Sherry Liu races to 6th in the Olympic Trials 800 final. In a race that set up very quickly and resulted in three swimmers under the FINA standard the front field proved to be very quick. Sherry fought hard to position herself in the race, and with a trip to the Olympics on the line the women proved to be very tough competitors. Great effort from Sherry as she represented herself and the club well.

Sherry conducted a cagey 800 race next to a veteran swimmer as they jostled for position in the preliminaries. Even splitting her race and shaking off her hard charging opponent Sherry won her heat with 8.49.19 to place 4th for Saturdays final. Our 200 flyers were also up today with Abi Sayer finishing 3rd in her heat and 22 overall moving up from her preliminary seed. Kathy Qu fought valiantly in the first heat to win from lane 8

For us...

Only two swims this morning with Stefan going 2:10.56 for a best time LC in 200 fly and Abi went 512.81 for her 400IM. We watched a very inspirational finals tonight which showed all you ever need is a lane in finals. The men's 200fly was a great instance as the winner came out of lane 8 and he's off to the Olympics. I am sure our team bc swimmers Sara Wendy and Chris are enjoying some great races.
