Hyack started the meet with the distance swims and 400 Im’s. Best Times were posted by Igor Gasovic Varga, Sarra Leung, and Abi Sayer. In the 400 IM, great swims by Chris Polok, and Indoor Pooni. Additional BT were posted by Sara Whelan, Paige Catlin and Kaila Stark, Daniel Kilmaster and Ku Chui. A good start for the team looking forward to the first full day of competition

There were 3 new Regional qualifiers. Maria Caray, Ivan Chiang, and Sophie Wang now join a growing Regional group !! There were also a number of new Level 2 qualifiers in the 200 IM and also new Level 1 qualifiers in the 100 IM. Overall, the meet was fast and the swimmers had awesome performances. First away meet of the season for many Hyack swimmers and it was a good one at that. There were a total of 21 swimmers who earned a top 10 spot in the aggregate awards. At this meet, all the swimmers do the same events and at the end of the meet, they add up the total time of all the events and determine the winners of the aggregate award in each age category. Here are the winners: 9 & under Girls: Sara Li 6th, Hattie Sun 4th, Kiana Stark...

Great job to all the Grassroots that participated at their pool micromeets last week! The coaches are impressed with the enthusiasm that many of the GR's have for racing. We're looking forward to more fast racing to come this season! The Halloween Minimeet on Oct 30th was also a really good meet. There were 5 new Regional qualifiers, including, Audrey Hu, Tara Shirbani, Taryn Hartner, Brodie Young, and Eric Wu. To be a Regional qualifier, swimmers have to achieve a time of 4:00 for the 200 IM. Regional qualified swimmers...

For the second year running, Team Orange takes home the gold and bragging rights. It was a close race between the three teams, but Orange persevered and nudged out in front. The bronze goes to Team White with 216 points and the silver to Team Black with 338 points. Team Orange ended up with 399 points. Great job to all swimmers who participated !! Until next year.....

Great job to all Olympic Ways and Grassroots who participated in the stroke camps !! There were 26 Olympic Ways at the Oct 9th stroke camp. Coaches Damon, Maria and Rita worked on flipturns and starts with out young up and comers. 22 Grassroots came to the Oct 16th stroke camp with Coaches Maria, Gaby, and Milan. Our Future Stars learned and practiced on streamlines, dives, and starts. Some of the GR2's did an excellent job at flipturns as well !! Excited to see the skills in the upcoming meets...

Over the month of August 2010, our very own Hau-Li Fan participated in a high performance meet down in California. He and other fast swimmers represented Canada at the North American Challenge Cup 2010. Can you pick out which one's Hau-Li? (Hint: the most serious swimmer in the picture....)

Kathy Qu, Siobhan Newell, Kristine Lawson, Vanessa Hanbury shattered the second senior women's club record. Shaving two seconds off the previous record the girls went 3:55.53.
