The Hyack Distance program kicked off the start of Westerns with Sherry Liu taking gold in the open 1500 with a commanding victory at 164408. Hyack had around 70 swimmers compete at SFU; by far the largest club there. It was ribbons galore. At the VPSC Dash for Cash on Sunday, Wendy Yang and Haydn Pak swam to 3 new club records. Wendy Yang in the 100 IM going 1:11.10. Haydn Pak went 1:08.04 in the 100 IM beating Hau-Li Fan's record from 2010 and 1:06.01 in the 100 Back beating Andrew Cho's record from 1991. Last weekend's Hyack Icebreaker was a great meet for the 90 strong Hyack squad. A slew of best times from many swimmers. Great to see, especially coming off of the X-mas camps !! 2 Hyack club records were broken as well. Haydn Pak in the 200 Free and Stefan Milosevic in the 800 Free. Team BC's Age Group (11&12) and Prospects (13&14) squads are going up against all-star teams from Pacific Northwest Swimming (Washington), Oregon Swimming, Pacific Swimming (San Francisco Bay Area), and SoCal Swimming (Los Angeles area).
