The 2023-2024 swimming seasons comes to an end for VKSC swimmer Brea Duncan. After swimming at BC Summer Provincials, BC Summer Games, today was Brea's last race, the 100 m Backstroke at 2024 Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships. Out of the 5 races, Brea made 3 finals and swam 3 personal best times. Finals in the 400 Free (7th), 100 Breast (9th) and 100 Back (10th) and personal best times in the 100 Breast (2:08.82), 100 Free (1:42.66) and 50 Free (46.22). Great job Brea at your first Canadian Swimming Championships.
Ethan was the only VKSC swimmer racing on the last day of BC Summer Games. His final race was the 200 m IM. Ethan finished 3rd and won the bronze medal in a PB time of 5:08.66. Also 100% PB times at the meet. Congratulations Ethan.

Brea, Ethan and Hera arrived at BC Summer Games in Maple Ridge. Today they had their first swim practice. Competition starts on Friday July 19th.

Hi all, On Thursday June 20th, Ethan had his level 2 classification at the Vernon Recreation Centre. Janet Dunn, International classifier from Victoria, flew from Victoria to classify Ethan. The Vernon Kokanee Swim Club was the host of the 2024 BC Summer North & Interior Divisional Championships from June 21-23. 30 VKSC swimmers were racing their hearts out. 16 teams were competing with each other. The Kokanee’s had a very successful meet with 13 new provincial qualifying times and added 2 new qualified swimmers to our total of 12 swimmers who made the provincial standard.
