  • Dolphins will practice on Wednesday, December 24 and December 31.....make up for holiday cancelations
PRACTICE

Holiday Practice (December 24)

  • Dolphins, White, and Blue Groupers will be doing our Holiday workout on Christmas Eve......12 Days of Christmas.  It's going to be tough, but will also be fun.....every once in a while Coach Chris's heart grows three times its size (please don't tell anyone).
    • Coach Katie is baking cupcakes for our Blue Groupers.
    • Dolphins and White Groupers will get a treat too.....sorry, I can cook but can't bake

Extra Workouts for Winter Break

  • For those swimmers who will be out of town over the Winter Break, I have posted a couple of workouts on our website.....White and Blue Group Workouts

MOVIE NIGHT

A tradition like no other.....Holiday Movie Night for our Dolphins, White, Blue Groups.  Kids will have some pizza, cookies, and a drink, then enjoy a holiday movie while floating in the pool.  Again, it's not about the movie, a little bit about the cookies, but most importantly celebrating and having fun with our friends!
  • Saturday, December 27
    • 5:30pm (food), 6:00pm (movie), 8:00pm (pick up)
  • Bring your best floatie.....swimmers will need to provide their own inflation device (pump).  Coach Chris is full of hot air but not that much.
  • Cost is $10 - please place in an envelpe with swimmer's name on the outside
  • Movie choices (please include your vote with your RSVP)
    • The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (Jim Carey)The Santa Clause, or Elf
    • Here's how old school, or just how old I am, I still think the best holiday movies are "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (original)" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas."  Coach Chris is just not that hip anymore.
  • Please RSVP [email protected] by Friday, December 26 (include your movie choice)
  • Again, a special thank you to Jennifer Thomas (senior group parent) who has provided and set up all equipment since her daughter, Aria, was in the Blue Group.....always wanting to volunteer for all DSA swimmers!!!

  • DSA 10 & Under selected swimmers.....Thadeaus Aguirre (10), Reese Degner (10), Carson Donlin (9), Wyatt Larson (9), and first alternate Brecklyn Gunning (10)
  • I'm always excited when our swimmers make the All-Star Team, but  I'm especially proud of this group!   Since they where 8 & Unders, they have practiced the right way, led by example, and have consistently been outstanding teammates.  Most importantly, they are super nice kids.   Congratulations......well deserved!!!

  • University of Denver
  • Meet info has been posted. Qualification times for distance events (200s and above)
  • Entry deadline - December 28
STROKE CLINICS

As mentioned, I don't do a lot of individual lessons (will let parents know if needed).  I have always believed that if kids are listening/paying attention, attending the required practices, and are giving their best, lessons shouldn't be needed.

With that said, I do understand our younger swimmers sometimes deserve and need extra attention.  I prefer doing Stroke Clinics, keeping with the TEAM concept of learning and working together.
  • Turn Clinics have been posted on our website under Team Events.  I had a blast with our first two sessions.....so much fun when kids are attentive and show up with a positive attitude.  I look forward to the next two sessions.
  • Get a Feel for the Water is always my favorite stroke clinic.  I will be sending an email with information in the next couple of days.
