Dolphins and White Group - 6 to 9

Dolphins
Our Dolphins practice group is a developmental program for 6 to 8 year old swimmers who are just starting to get a feel for the water.  Kids will learn a variety of drills for all four strokes, helping them become more comfortable with their posture, line, and balance (coaches will jump in ocassionally to support technique)

Our goal is to provide a positive learning atmosphere where swimmers can develop, and most importantly, foster an appreciation and enjoyment for swimming.

Skill Requirements
  • Swimmers must be able to perform a 25 yard freestyle and 25 yard backstroke without stopping, and in a timely manner.
  • Swimmers should also have a basic understanding of butterfly and breaststroke.
  • Athletes must be able to pay attention and listen in a group setting.
  • Swimmers need to understand we don't practice in a "lesson pool" where the temperature is much higher than a competition pool.
Practice Schedule

Attendance

  • We hope swimmers can attend all practices, but encourage at least two practices a week.

White Group

Our White Group is a positive introduction to year round competitive swimming for 6 to 9 year olds who are able to do all four strokes legally.  Swimmers will learn skills to help them with their balance, posture, coordination, and stroke efficiency (distance per stroke).....building a strong technique base for all four competitive strokes (an IM mindset).

Our goal is to teach good practice habits, inspire a strong work ethic, and encourage our TEAM philosopy (good sportsmanship, value of working together, and being a great teammate) which will increase short-term growth, but more importantly, enhance long-term success.

Requirements
  • Swimmers must be legal in all four competitive strokes.
  • Swimmers need to be able to pay attention in a group setting and cooperate with teammates.
