Currently, Meet Marshals are not required to be members of USA Swimming.
The Meet Marshal Exam is optional but recommended and can be found in the Education tab when logged into SWIMS (hub.usaswimming.org).
MEET MARSHAL& MAAP Requirements:
- Effective January 1, 2023 USA-S requires a minimum of one (1) Male and one (1) Female MeetMarshal on deck at ALL meets.
- MAAPP requires Locker Room Sweeps during meets
- It is suggested that sweeps be random and that a log be kept in the event of any incidents.
- Locker room sweeps require two-deep coverage and the Meet Director and Meet Ref should be informed of the names of the individuals conducting the sweeps.
- A coach can go into a locker room alone in an emergency, but it should only be to obtain a quick assessment, then to get assistance as needed.
