Congratulations to Joao Vitor Pereira (14 years old) who has broken both the SCY and LCM 50 backstroke Club Records. The SCY 50 backstroke was broken at the March Junior Olympics in a time of 26.82 and the LCM 50 backstroke was broken at the Islamorada Meet in a time of 30.67.

Pine Crest had over 65 swimmers (club and camp) attend this exciting "International Classic" meet held at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex on June 20-23. The fun continues at the Rising Star Swim & Dive Camp. We had 28 campers attend, with several enjoying the two camp program of tennis in the afternoon. The Rising Star Swim & Dive Camp started their summer off with a super week. Congratulations to Matthew Petreski (12 years old) who again broke a Long Course Club Record at the recent Invitational Swim Meet at Plantation on June 9. This also placed Matthew 1st in that event for the 11-12 age group. This new record broke the previous record by over 4 seconds. 200 Breaststroke - 3:00.99

Congratulations to Casey Francis (18 years old), class of 2013, who has been selected to the USA Swimming National Open Water training camp in Ft. Myers, Florida starting June 5, 2013. This is the first time Casey Francis has ever been selected for a USA National Team training camp. Casey qualified for this camp by finishing in the top 8 at the USA Swimming Open Water Championships last year.
