Our camp was a little smaller this week, but full of energy and fun. We had swimmers from the Bahamas, Venezuela and Germany this week, so we had our own little International group. Our trip to the Boca Raton campus was amazing as it was the best water slide yet, I don't know who had more fun, the campers or coaches. Congratulations to all our swimmers that competed in this past weekend's "14 & Under Long Course Junior Olympics" at Plantation. We had 34 representing Pine Crest and loads of personal best times. Pine Crest Swimming finished in 2nd place overall for the Girls Team Scores, and 3rd overall for the Combined Team Scores. Pine Crest had a great start on the first day of the 14 & Under Long Course Junior Olymics being held at the Plantation Aquatics Center. Congratulations to our 13-14 Girls Relay (Marta Ciesla, Alexa Rivera, Jamie Flores, Sabrina Gornisiewicz) which broke both the club and FGC record in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:51.68. Congratulations to all our swimmers that competed in the "Area 1 Developmental Championships", hosted by FLA at the FAU complex in Boca Raton this past weekend. This was the last chance to achieve a NEW or add more JO (Junior Olympic) cuts before the Long Course Junior Olympics in less than 2 weeks. Two years ago we hosted the Junior National Team from Russia, this summer we are hosting a team from Tunisia. Click HERE for further information on the program. Our own team will be leaving for Russia on July 12 for a similar program to Moscow.
