Short course Junior Olympics was held March 26-29 at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex and the performance by the PST Piranahs was amazing. Eight new team records were set and as a team, PST swam to almost 70% lifetime best times! PST proved that we do indeed own Sunday, with Jessie Randolph and Natalya Wozab both finaling in 3 individual events each. Jessie finished 2nd in both the 200 IM (2:10.40) and the 100 Breast (1:09.08) and took 3rd in the 100 Free (53.05). Natalya finished 9th in both the 100 Free (1:07.11) and 100 Breast (1:27.35) and 5th in the 100 Back (1:16.01). Finaling in 2 events were Ryan Witcher, Courtney Randolph and Sivan Fraiman. The Randolph sisters continued their JO dominance with Jessie winning both the 200 Breast (2:24.82) and the 500 Free (5:02.75). Courtney took the 4th place slot in the 200 Breast (2:24.38) and 3rd in the 500 Free (5:01.61). Cheriesse Campbell also added points in the 500 Free, finishing in 4th place (5:05.46). PST had a great Friday night at the Junior Olympics in Coral Springs, with 10 individual swims in finals. PST kicked off JO's the way we should, with both individual and relay preformances that we expect. The 1000 Free turned out to be extremely productive, with Dylan Marsolek (8th in the 15/16 age group), Vitor Rodrigues (14th in 15/16 age group), and Michael Tucci (10th in the 17/19 age group) all putting in superb preformances. The PST Piranhas had a great Sectional meet at the Hall of Fame pool March 19-22. Outstanding efforts by all of the PST swimmers added up to over 60% best times. Texas A&M will be hosting the 2009 Men's NCAA Divsion 1 Championships starting Thursday March 26. NCAA's is one of the fastest meets in the world, and is held in the exiting 25yd format.
