We started the New Year off with another GREAT meet! New events were swam & numerous Personal Bests were achieved! GTSA had a fantastic weekend at the 2020 CAT Jingle Bell Swim Meet! Though the weather may have been chilly, our swimmers were “on fire”! A few things... On Saturday December 19 we will be doing a Group Sock Exchange! Your swimmer(s) will buy & bring a pair of socks (funny, cute, etc!) and then before they get in the water, will do an exchange with the group they are in. On Saturday October 10, we held our annual TYR Classic (aka the Pumpkin Meet). The swimmers showed us their strength for those pumpkins! As a team we had numerous time drops, lots of Personal Best times achieved & tons of pumpkins taken home! It was great to see the younger swimmers so excited to get up and race for a pumpkin. We had a great weekend at Clearwater! It was wonderful to have swam with CAT & Velocity for some friendly competition and get into the swing of our “new normal” for swim meets. GTSA had a record breaking meet at FLAGS March 5th through the 8th in Orlando. GTSA had an amazing weekend, 16 swims 13 of those best times and 4 new team records. Joao Lapagesse new team records in the 200 Free 7th place, 500 Free 5th place, 1000 Free 6th place, 1650 Free 2nd place, and 400 IM 5th place. Congratulations to everyone who competed this past weekend at the Area 3 Championship in St Petersburg. This was the first championship meet of the season and GTSA did not disapoint. With the weather a bit on the cool side GTSA came out of the gate on fire. The hard work put in by the athletes during the season paid dividends.
