Brynna Sentel Head Coach

Coach Brynna, originally from Sullivan, Illinois, began swimming with the Sullivan Blue Dolphins at the age of five. After graduating from Sullivan High School in 2017, she attended Franklin College where she studied Multimedia Journalism and swam for four years. Specializing in distance free and sprint backstroke, she qualified for NCAA Division III Nationals for three years and ended her swim career ranked in the top 5 in the 1650 and 500 free, earning her Academic All-American status for 3 straight years.

Brynna, a swim helper with the Blue Dolphins for four years during high school, decided she wanted to stay involved in swimming by joining the BNSC coaching staff in 2022.

Outside the pool Brynna works for the Illinois Soybean Association as a Communications Coordinator. She enjoys spending time with her dog, Frannie, listening to podcasts, and seeing her family.

Brynna is excited to continue to work with our talented BNSC swimmers and looks forward to sharing her love of the sport with the next generation of student athletes!

Madyson Morse Gold/Silver Coach
Alexandra McDermott Bronze/Orange Coach

Coach Alex began swimming with the Normal Parks Swimmin' Sharks at the age of 6. She also spent time swimming for Redbird Swim Club and BNSC during her teenage years. She swam varsity at Normal Community High School through her junior year before an ongoing shoulder injury forced her to end her swim career. But during her swimming years, she specialized in sprint events - mainly 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly, while also serving as the anchor on state relays.

Since high school, Alex went to nursing school where she received her BSN and is currently working on receiving her masters in leadership. She currently stays home with her youngest child, Nicholas, while working as needed in the surgery department. Her oldest child, Bennett, is on the team (and also swims for the Sharks, just like mom!).

Coach Alex has always had a love for the water and is happy to involved with BNSC to share that love of the water with all of the kids.

Coach Dylan Qualls Volunteer Coach
Coach Dylan has been a part of the swimming world for 19 years, competing from the age of 4 until 18, and coaching from the age of 16 to today. Dylan started his coaching journey with his local club in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, the McHenry Marlins.

Dylan attended Illinois State University where he received his bachelors in physics and a minor in mathematics. It was during this time that he first started coaching for BNSC.
