Swimming Coaches

Terry Golebiewski - Head Boys Swim Coach >> [email protected]

For Terry swimming has always been a significant part of life. Starting as a competitive swimmer at the age of 10 she went on to and finished with a fourth place national finish in both the 500 and 1650 swims at Nationals. Terry started coaching in a Colonial School District aquatic club program in 1991 when coaching became a family lifestyle. Her four boys all swam under her guidance and expertise, where they excelled at the age group, high school, US swimming and collegiate level. She continued to coach after her children had moved onto successful careers so she could continue to share her passion for swimming and knowledge of the sport. Her most significant accomplishment has been not only to teach young swimmers but to also instill a lifelong love of swimming

Andrea Rossi Moore - Head Girls Swim Coach >> [email protected]

Andrea has been a part of the Colonial community swim programs since her first days in the water and is continuing the tradition with her own kids. Andrea began swimming at age 5. She swam in the summers at Plymouth Swim Club and in the SAL in the winters, where she was coached by Nina Smith and Terry Golebiewski. Andrea continued her time in the pool at both Archbiship Carroll High School and King's College in Wilkes Barre where she swam on the women's swim team.  Following graduation from King’s, Andrea enrolled in graduate school at Temple University and began her coaching career at her alma mater – Archbishop Carroll. Andrea dedicated the next 10 years to Carroll, serving as the head boys and girls coach for seven successful years, all while earning her PhD at Temple. She had the pleasure of coaching and mentoring many swimmers, including several state championship qualifiers and all-state swimmers. CCA is proud to have Andrea back in the same pool in which she once swam.

Tim Moeller - Co-Head Boys Swim Coach >> [email protected]

Coach Tim has been part of the CCA family since 2017. His two children, Zachary and Jade, are dedicated members of the team as well. His wife Julia has also made her voice known with her cheering in the stands!  Tim’s love of swimming started in his backyard and continued through high school. When on deck, you can feel his passion for bringing the best out of kids of all ages and abilities. If you are ever out driving around the high school early in the morning, make sure you honk at Coach Tim out for his morning run!

Krissy Oldham - Co-Head Girls Swim Coach >> [email protected]

Krissy  developed a love of swimming at a young age and has lots of great memories from her competitive swimming days with Plymouth Swim Club, PWAC, and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. Her favorite events were middle-distance free, 100 fly, and relays. Krissy has coached in the past at Plymouth Swim Club and is looking forward to her first season with CCA! She lives in Plymouth Meeting with her husband, Patrick, and two kids, Harper and Tate.

Maddy Crippen Plankey

A native of Conshohocken, Maddy returns to the area where she grew up with a family of her own, and we are thrilled to have her at CCA. Maddy swam in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia, finishing sixth in the 200 individual medley. She is a three-time United States National Champion (twice in the 400 IM and once in the 200 breaststroke). As a college swimmer at Villanova, Maddy won the NCAA title in the 400 IM, picked up 10 separate Big East Conference titles, and was the Big East Swimmer of the Year in 1999 and 2001.

Shannon Broderick

Shannon became a coach to share her love of swimming, as some of her favorite childhood memories and life-long friends are from being on the swim team as a kid. Shannon started swimming at five years old and has swam for Woodbine Swim Club, Jersey Wahoos, the Coliseum, and Lenape High School in New Jersey. Over the years, Shannon has been a lesson instructor, lifeguard, and swim coach. She attended Villanova University and is a former Language Arts teacher currently working toward her school counseling certification. As a mother of four children, she enjoys coaching because of the opportunity to see children developing confidence in their abilities, while making new friends.

Kate Clark

Following a childhood of swimming including high school and a collegiate career at LaSalle University, Kate began her coaching career working with PWAC as an assistant to the amazing Nina Smith. Then she coached for a plethora of SAL teams, including head coach at Methacton and Upper Dublin. Upon getting married she was “too busy planning a wedding” to continue her passion. Now that the real work of raising three children has begun, she is psyched to be back on deck helping swimmers grow stronger, faster, and form lifelong bonds with friends. She and Ned Clark, team photographer, are parents to Cooper, Kiera and TJ.

Joe Sigismondo

Joe has enjoyed swimming and coaching for over 20 years, beginning with Delaware Valley High School and subsequently Franklin and Marshall College where he focused on butterfly and backstroke. In his Coaching career he has coached youth age groupers and collegiate campers, as well as adult Triathletes.  Joe is motivated by helping athletes of all ages and ability optimise their technique and performance in and out of the pool. He maintains certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as well as USA Triathlon, and spends much of his professional time leading Personal Training teams working with everyday athletes on their strength, conditioning, and mobility. He resides in Lafayette Hill with his wife Adela and 3 children (new CCA Swimmers!).

Sean Smith

As the oldest child of the famous Nina Smith, Sean had no choice but to get involved in swimming.  As a lifetime resident of Colonial, Sean swam for PWAC, Ply-Mar, and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, amongst others in the area.  Sean became heavily involved in coaching swimming at age 17 and continued coaching for 13 years at a high level.  During this time, he assisted at several aquatic clubs and summer club teams, as well as serving as the head coach of Norristown High School, Flourtown Country Club, and Mermaid Swim Club.  Sean just recently got back into being an assistant coach when his son Blake got into swimming at CCA.

Greg Stokes

Greg spent most of his summer days and winter nights at Ply-Mar Swim Club and the PWHS pool swimming for Coach Nina Smith and still to this day remains her favorite student! Swimming has always been a big part of Greg's life and continues to be with three of his four (and soon the fourth) daugthers competing in the pool. Greg graduated from PWHS in 1999 and from The Catholic University of America in 2003 where he played varsity football and soccer. Greg remains active in the community, coaching swimming and soccer and as a member of the boards at Ply-Mar and CCA.

Diving Coaches

Amy Alderfer - Head Diving Coach >> [email protected]

Amy began as a gymnast at the age of 4.  She loved flipping and twisting from a very early age.  She began diving at the age of 10 and initiated the diving team at her summer pool.   She gave up gymnastics at the age of 15 and focused on diving.  She dove every summer until she graduated from high school when she joined the Villanova diving team and became the summer coach at her pool.  Although she only dove for one year at Villanova, she continued coaching through the summer until her junior year of college.  After she graduated from Villanova she moved to Florida and coached the Cocoa High School diving team for two years.  She moved back to the local area and began coaching again locally in 2014.  She has been co-coaching for CCA since the beginning of the program in 2016.  She has also coached the summer program at Ply-Mar Swim Club since 2014. She is passionate about diving and coaching!  She still loves to get on the board!  When she is not coaching, she works as a School Counselor at Haverford High School.  She currently lives in Plymouth Meeting with her husband and four children.

Adam Barclay - Diving Coach >> [email protected]

Adam has been a diver for the last 35 years, starting at a local swim club at the age of 6. After his mother frequently found him playing on the roof and jumping out of trees, diving became a perfect outlet for him. His mother was thrilled that his antics were now being regularly supervised and judged, instead of starting with, “Hey Mom watch this!” He competed in the Suburban Aquatic League through high school and during that time became the head coach of his summer team.  During high school he trained at La Salle University and later dove for Division I La Salle. Adam qualified for the junior Olympics several times, senior nationals and placed first in the Atlantic 10 Championships in his junior year at La Salle. Adam loves giving back to the sport by training children, including his three kids, to be the best divers possible. He challenges the kids and pushes them to do their best, even if they don’t believe that they can do it. He is ok with tears, but hates hearing “I can’t.” Adam summers at Ply-Mar Swim Club, where he is often found trying to relive his diving glory days on the diving board, including a key 2021 achievement: Edging out reigning splash contest champion Greg Stokes for the 2021 crown (though there was an official protest of the results). Adam can often be found wearing dress shoes on the pool deck, which is particularly comical when they get wet.  When will he learn!

Emily McMullen - Assistant Diving Coach

Emily  will be joining us as an assistant diving coach for a third season. She has also helped coach Ply-Mar Dive Team a few years ago. Emily started diving when she was in 6th grade, and she continued diving until the end of high school. She went to Mount Saint Joseph Academy for high school, where she was the only diver for her dive team. She made it to district championships once in her junior year at the Mount. Emily graduated from Jefferson University in East Falls with a degree in Graphic Design Communications in May 2020. In her free time, she loves crocheting and sewing for her Etsy shop ELOK Handmade, playing with her bunny Winnie, and playing video games.
