2020 Fall Swim Training Protocols and Guidelines (Edit 9/14)
- Swimmers will be dropped off at North Hills and and will enter the pool FIVE MINUTES before their scheduled time. While entering and exiting the pool area, swimmers MUST be wearing masks (no masks in the pool). If you arrive early, remain in your car until a coach lets you know it’s time.
- Athletes are NOT permitted to attend practices if…
- They have a fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, or other symptoms listed by the CDC.
- They are nauseous or have vomited in the last 24 hours
- Anyone in their household has symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19.
- They have been exposed to anyone who has symptoms or tested positive for
- COVID-19.
- They have visited the following states in the previous 14 days: https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/Travelers.aspx
- Swimmers will be staged, by group, in a particular area, being mindful of the 6 foot social distancing rule. Staff will assign swimmers to their lane and starting position.
- There will be no shared equipment. Swimmers with their own equipment bags should bring daily, and be sure it is clearly marked. Equipment may not be left at the facility. It is the responsibility of the swimmer to bring their equipment, 2 WATER BOTTLES (NO REFILL station), goggles and caps each and every day they participate. **Please note with exception of siblings - fellow teammates and coaches CANNOT assist with putting on caps.
- Staff and Athletes only! No spectators or siblings are permitted in the pool area.
- Swimmers will exit the main gate immediately when finished with their session. Parents are expected to pick up PROMPTLY. Swimmers will not be permitted to wait inside the club for pick up.
- The clinic will run rain or shine, but we will have to cancel any session(s) if a threat of thunderstorms is in the area. We are unable to safely shelter in a socially distance fashion at North Hills.
- Coaches will enforce USA Swimming and local and state guidelines for social distancing and safe practices at all times.
- Any swimmer unable to abide by these guidelines will not be permitted to participate in fitness swimming sessions. We must be in strict adherence at all times!
