Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Program Document

USA Swimming's and Hatboro Horsham Aquatic Association's top priority continues to be keeping athletes safe.  Safe Sport is USA Swmming's comprehensive abuse prevention program and provides tools for swim clubs to educate their members and intervene in risky situations.

Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Program is the enhancement imposed by the U.S. Center for SafeSport.   The policy addresses risk areas that present opportunites for abuse to occur.

This policy covers five (5) areas:

1- One on One Interactions

2- Travel: Local & Team

3- Social Media & Electronic Communication

4- Locker Rooms & Changing Areas

5- Massages & Rubdowns

MAAPP applies to all adults who interact with and have direct and frequent contact with minor athletes, including adult athletes.  The language used in the policy is Applicable Adult.  All Applicable Adults will be required to follow MAAPP.

ALL PARENTS, MINORS, and COACHES within HHAA must read and review the updated MAAPP  and complete a waiver prior to the start of the swim season. **The athlete waiver is done electronically through the registration portal.
