HHAA is a full USA Swimming Club

What does this mean?

In addition to competing in the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL), all HHAA registered swimmers will now be required to register as a USA swimmer through our local chapter, Middle Atlantic Swimming

Two types of Membership options:

  • USA Flex Membership - (12 and unders only) $30 and only includes 2 USA meets.
    • Can be upgraded at any time
    • Ideal for developmental swimmers

  • USA Premium Membership - (13 and over) $87
    • 12 and unders who plan to compete through February and March should select the $87 membership

What is the benefit of being a USA Club?

HHAA has offered USA Swimming membership for several years as an option for swimmers with a high interest in practicing more, swimming more events and participating in more meets. USA Swimming offers a variety of opportunities for swimmers of all levels (developmental, intermediate, elite), along with stricter and safer guidance to support athletes and coaches.

The Suburban Aquatic League and high school meets through the PIAA offer some USA Approved Meets, which allows swimmers to compete in SAL or HS meets and achieve times that can be used for USA meets and qualifiers.

Why does HHAA require USA Swimming membership?

HHAA is a member of USA Swimming.  Membership in this organization is required of all participants to meet USA Swimming criteria for general liability insurance coverage of HHAA's athletes and coaching staff.

Are there opportunities for younger swimmers to compete in USA Swimming competition?

Yes! Multiple Mini Meets or 10&Under meet opportunities exist, in addition to the traditional participation in SAL invitationals (several have events for 6 & under).  Also, swimmers regularly move up from our preteam to compete in SAL dual meets.

How long is the season?

The PARTIAL season runs approximately from 9/1/23 – 2/1/23.  Swimmers will participate in SAL dual meets and Champs as well as a few local USA or SAL invitationals.

The FULL season runs approximately from 9/1/23 – 4/1/23.  In addition to the above there are two more months of swimming. Participation in more USA meets. Participation in USA Champs.

What happens in the summer?

USA Long Course Season from April to July.

We combine training in a short course pool and long course pool to prepare our swimmers for meets. Long Course is for swimmers 9 and up with coach approval. In 2023, we offered practices at Upper Dublin April-June and we did combine practices in the summer at Whites Road Pool with Souderton. Our team participated in several meets including, Speedo Super Sectionals in Richmond, Mid Atlantic Senior Champs and Junior Champs.

Long Course Season is a seperate registration and information will be released toward the end of February.
