On May 6th, 2002, six members of the Triangle swimming community met to discuss the lack of access to year-round public aquatic facilities in the Triangle area. From that meeting, the Triangle Aquatic Center was born. The creation of a state of the art, competitive aquatic center would allow for thousands of swimmers to learn, train, and compete. The vision for this large facility would be complete with the the creation of a unified swim team that would successfully cater to swimmers of all levels and abilities. The cutting edge facility could house such a swim team that would compete on a national level, bringing aquatics in the Raleigh area to new heights by offering high quality coaching at every ability and commitment level. Five and a half years later, in the fall of 2007 the TAC opened it's doors. After eleven years and 2,000,000 TAC visitors, the TITANS emerged to fulfill the vision in 2013.
