In The final day of competition EST swimmers turned in more fast times and three more team records. Thomas Choquette started things off with a new team record and best time in the 800 Free. His time of 10:19.97 dropped another 17 seconds off his best and placed him 10th overall. In the 200 Breast Max Reich dropped 13.7 seconds on his way to a 3:26.20. Saturday was a big day for EST at the 12 & under championships with nine athletes competing. The day started with the boys 200 Free: Andrew Benson posted a best time in 2:40.20, Tony Min finished with a 2:37.52, and Thomas Choquette qualified for finals with a best time of 2:26.35. In the final Thomas was able to take off another 3 seconds to finish with a 2:23.34 which was only .2 off of the team record! Our lone competitor in the 100 fly was Tony who finished in 1:26.77....

In the first day of Trial/Final swimming at 12 & under championships EST had 5 swimmers compete. For the 10 & unders Elizabeth Bencze swam the 100 breast and dropped 4.5 seconds off her time to finish in 1:46.99. Thomas was right on his time in the 200 back in 2:54.65. In the boys 50 fly Max Reich finished in 38.6 and Tony Min in 36.7. Ethan Thompson made it back to finals with a 33.9. In the finals session Ethan dropped another .9 to win his heat and finish...

Last night Thomas Choquette started of the NE 12 & under championship by dropping 25 seconds in the 1500 free! His time of 19:51.25 placed him 9th and broke the team record. Congratulations Thomas!

The final day of swimming at the New England LCM championship turned up 3 more team records and a host of other best times. Kellen Gray dropped 3.7 seconds in his 200 IM (2:19.96) and 2.4 seconds in his 200 back (2:13.69) his back time placed him 11th overall. Patrick Carignan took over 9 seconds off his 200 breast and broke a team record in the process finishing in 2:42.83. CJ Patterson shaved .2 off his best in the 200 IM (2:16.20) which placed him 13th and 1.2 seconds in...

The second day of swimming at the NE Senior Championship provided more fast times and team records. In the men’s 100 breast time trial, Sam Hodgman dropped 1.25 seconds (1:16.75) and Patrick Carignan dropped almost 3 second to come away with a new team record in 1:13.29. Zach Bishop set a new team record in the 200 fly and then re-broke it at finals (2:11.17). That time placed him 6th overall and knocked 3 seconds off the team record. CJ Patterson also set two team records today with a 2:16.20...

Senior Meet Day 1 The first day of swimming at the NE senior championships included 3 new team records CJ Patterson set broke two records, the 100 Fly (59.51) and the 200 Free (2:00.79). Kellen Gray broke the 100 back record in 1:00.12. Kellen’s time in the 100 back was a bonus cut for USA Swimming Junior nationals and he has less than ½ a second to go to make the “A” standard. Tomorrow will include the 200 fly,100 free, 200 IM and 400 free.

The New England regional meet started off with a bang tonight as Kayla Metivier and Zach Bishop both set records in distance free events. Kayla knocked 30 seconds off the record in her 1500 free (19:56) and also broke the 800 free record by 17 seconds (10:31). Not to be outdone Zach beat the boys 1500 free record by 56 seconds clocking in at 17:35. Zach’s time was also a New England Senior cut.

At the MST meet this past weekend, Andrew Benson swam a 1:12.56 in the 9-10 boys 100m free which broke the record held by CJ Patterson (1:12.95) from 2008. Congratulations Andrew!

The final two days of swimming at the Eastern Zone sectional meet produced 5 new team records and many personal bests. On Saturday Zach Bishop set a new team record in the 200 Meter Fly (2:14.78) placing 18th. Tessa Oakes dropped over a second in her 50 Meter Free (29.15) In the 100 Back both Kellen and CJ made finals placing 11th and 9th. CJ’s time of 1:00.79 was a new team record.
