MEET GUIDELINES:

LISTEN TO YOUR COACH - Your coach will help answer any questions you have and make your first meet as easy on you as possible

BE ON TIME - Coaches don't want to have to wonder or worry about where you are

BRING A WATER BOTTLE - Drinking water helps you stay hydrated and keep from cramping

BRING A PEN OR MARKER - Have your parents write your events on your hand if you are 10 and under, or tend to forget your heat and lane.

BRING AN EXTRA TOWEL - One to dry off after a race, one for when you are completely finished for the day

LISTEN FOR A WHISTLE - When at the starting area for your events, there will be a 2 second whistle to indicate that you need to step onto the starting block or get into the water.

SPORTSMANSHIP! - Sportsmanship is very important to RRST and our goals. You cheer for your teammates when they race and cheer for your friends on other teams. After you finish your race, stay in the water and wait for everyone else to finish. Whether you are first or last, make an effort to shake hands with the swimmers next to you and say, "Nice race!".

**At GVSL (Junior/Senior/Combo) Meets, please stay and cheer your teammates until everyone has finished. This is a TEAM meet, so we stay until the end. Sometimes, your teammates might not swim their first event until the end. They have to stay for the whole thing and cheer you on while waiting. It shows great support if you can stay and do the same for your fellow swimmer. At Invitationals (non-GVSL meets), when your event is finished, you can leave**
