About
LifeTime Allen hosts a robust swim school and highly-competitive swim team program. Our roster of in-water instructors range from previous HS swim coaches to long-distance marathon swimmers who focus on teaching water safety at the base level. For students that hope to become competitive athletes, our Learn-to-Swim Program (open to 4mos old and up) provides a curriculum that teaches all 4 USA-Swimming strokes. Upon completion of Learn-to-Swim, swimmers are invited to try-out and join the LT Developmental Swim Team, our education-first, fun-oriented intramural swim team.
Swimmers that progress through Developmental with nearly-legal strokes, consistent attendance and meet performance are then invited to the first step of our USA-Swimming Sanctioned Swim Team. Our Bronze swimmers spend 80% of their time training efficient and legal technique and begin competing in USA-Swim Meets against other swim clubs in the DFW metroplex. Upon achieving 3 "B" times, they will be invited to join our Silver group.
Silver swimmers are our dedicated swimmer group - swimmers who are training for "BB" times, have consistent attendance and are ready for that next level. At this level, interval training intensifies and drylands training is introduced. Silver swimmers are expected to train a minimum of 3 days of week, with 4 being the progressive requirement. When a Silver swimmer has achieved an "A" time or 3 "BB" times, they will be invited to join the most competitive and dedicated group, the pinnacle of Allen talent - Gold.
Our Gold swimmers are more than athletes, they are leaders, examples of the program's best and the swimmers that have earned their spot through hardwork and sacrifice. Gold swimmers train 5-6x a week and have drylands 4x a week. They are held to "A" time standards and are expected to perform at their highest capability.
The LT Allen Swim Team Program was designed and structured by Head Coach Michael De Guzman to be an athlete-first and always program. We believe that a strong swimmer has passion, grit, discipline and community that loves and supports them. We value the external factors of being a swimmer including mental health and a holistic drylands program.
