Devonee McCary - Head Swimming Coach 

I was raised in Georgetown, Texas, where I started my coaching journey with the local summer league swim team, the Georgetown Aquadillos. | embarked on an academic path at The University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em Horns) and received a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology. While studying at UT, I had the privilege of coaching a faculty and staff swim team for a span of four years.

Upon completing my studies at UT, I set my sights on Hawaii. I enrolled at the University of Hawaii at Mano and attained a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. During my time in Hawaii, I balanced my role as a nurse with coaching the Kona Aquatics youth swim team. After that, my journey led me to Henderson, NV, where I dedicated a significant portion of my efforts to nurturing my two now-teenage children, all while working part-time as a Registered Nurse.

Over the course of 12 years, I held the position of head coach for a USMS (United States Masters Swimming) team, and for 8 years, I coached youth swimmers. My coaching philosophy revolves around instilling proper technique, injury prevention, and fostering a sense of enjoyment in the aquatic realm. I am committed to cultivating well-rounded athletes who excel both within and beyond the pool.

During my free time, youll find me hiking, enjoying a good book, and exploring nature with my family. To add variety to my routine, I incorporate barre classes for thorough full-body strength training.
