Men's Swim of the Year: Congratulations to Steven Stumph who was award the Men's Swim of the Year by Pacific Swimming for his National Record breaking swim in the 100 Breaststroke at the 2013 NCS Championships. Steven's time of 53.37 is the fastest 100 Breast in high school history. Of note, Steven also broke the Junior National record in the 200 Breaststroke at the December 2012 Short Course Junior Nationals. Steven is currently a freshman swimming at USC.

It was a great day for young athletes as 320 local kids ventured into the world of triathlons. Summer ended strong for OA with a 6th place finish at Far Westerns (out of 200 teams), along with great swims at the US Open followed by the 2013 Speedo Junior Nationals also held in Irvine, California. At Juniors, Orinda Aquatics was represented by Talbot Jacobs, Albert Miao, Gabe Ostler and Jolen Griffin. Kevin Lai Kevin Lai returns to Orinda Aquatics after five years coaching abroad in Asia and one year in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Kevin was a former nationally ranked swimmer and coach for Orinda Aquatics and is very excited to be back home. Kevin’s local career included Sleepy Hollow, MCC, MVP, Campolindo and Miramonte High School. Kevin was very impactful in all of these programs.
