Evan has been coaching the Sharks since 2015. He joined the team following tremendous success with the Lakeside Seahawks of Louisville, KY where he served 7 years as an Assistant Coach and Head Site Coach. Coach Evan has a great reputation for educating and developing swimmers. He believes that success is built from the bottom to the top with patience and progression. He is committed to developing talent and challenging the already talented to become even better. Evan has been involved in competitive swimming since the age of six. He swam for Saint Xavier High School (KY) and Western Kentucky University and has achieved Level 3 U.S. Paralympics Swimming Coach Certification.
Dave has been a swim coach for more than 40 years and has been with the WTRC Sharks since 2017. Prior to joining the Sharks, Dave was the head swim coach at Urbana University for 7 years. During his tenure, the team was named Collegeswimming.com's Most Improved Team in NCAA Division II, while Dave was named Appalachian Swimming Conference Men's Coach of the Year. He was the coach of the Springfield YMCA swim team for 29 years and also served as the coach for both the Springfield North High School and Springfield High School teams. Dave was inducted into the Springfield City Schools Hall of Fame in 2002 and was named the Ohio Swimming Large Team Age Group Coach of the Year in 2023. In college, Dave swam for Miami University where he was an NCAA qualifier, Team-Tri Captain, 3-time MAC champion in the 100-yard Breaststroke, a member of the MAC champion 400-yard Medley Relay Team, and recipient of the Bill Mulliken Award.
Alejandro joined the WTRC Sharks in 2023 as the Lead Age Group Coach. Coach Alejandro smoothly transitioned into coaching after concluding his swimming career at Saint Peter’s University (NJ) where he was a member of the MAAC All-Academic Team. He began with individual and group lessons, gradually expanding into more specialized coaching roles. Throughout his coaching journey, Alejandro gained valuable experience working with athletes of various ages and skill levels. He served as an assistant coach at Swim Stars Swim Club and Scarlet Aquatics at the club level. At the collegiate level, he volunteered at his alma mater, Saint Peter’s University, and later took on the role of Graduate Assistant at East Stroudsburg University (PA) where he also earned a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science. His diverse coaching background showcases his dedication to the swimming community.
Coach Megan began coaching for the Sharks in 2015. She swam from a young age through her high school years and coached summer swim league, swim lessons, and also coached a local high school team prior to joining the Sharks. Coach Megan focuses on developing our younger swimmers, concentrating on safety and technique while always having fun. “I truly enjoy working with the kids to encourage not only the development of their swimming skills but also a passion for swimming as a sport.” Coach Megan is a mother to two Sharks swimmers. In addition to her work as a coach, Megan has 12 years of experience as a Firefighter/Paramedic and is currently practicing as a Physician’s Assistant.
