Welcome to the WTRC Sharks Membership Information page!  If you are NEW to the Sharks, you must have a coach evaluation for training group placement prior to registering.  Contact Head Coach Evan Mulliken to schedule an evaluation.

Below you will find information about the costs of team membership, and our policies regarding payment and volunteer requirements.  We have a flat registration fee, and monthly dues which cover all other training costs. Please review and let us know if you have questions.

The following fixed fees are required for each participating swimmer(s) on the WTRC Sharks:

Registration:  Each swimmer will be required to pay a non-refundable fee at initial registration of $385.00.

  • Multi-Swimmer Family Discounts:  The first swimmer is $385.00, the second swimmer is $200.00 and all additional swimmers are $100.00.  This fee is charged once per year at initial registration.
  • The fee covers registration, a RecPlex aquatic access pass, and your first (partial) month's program fees. These fees will appear with the appropriate multi-swimmer discount on your initial registration invoice as 2025-26 Registration Fees unless you register your swimmers at different times.  A credit will be issued when the registration is accepted if your swimmers are registered at different times.

You will need to pay for these memberships the first year directly, future renewals will be handled by the team.

MEET SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS

All swim FAMILIES (a family is defined as one or more swimmers whose fees are tied to the same household) are required to meet a minimum of 15 meet support hours during the Short Course season. In addition, post-short course season meets typically require meet support from each participating team. Swimmers attending these post-season and long course competitions will be required to fill meet support shifts for the meets they attend.

I understand that in accordance with our team by-laws and code of conduct, should a family not meet the required meet support commitment required for team participation, any unfilled hours will be charged to their account at a value of $30 per hour.

PAYMENT OF TEAM DUES

  • All training groups will be billed monthly (6 months for Short Course groups, 10 months for Year-Round) after the initial registration month.
  • Exception:  Payment for the Masters Group (either Short Course or Long Course) is due in FULL at time of registration.

Families that wish to prepay their program fees in full for the year at the beginning of the season must register online and then contact our registration chair, Katie Franklin, to arrange for a 2nd, billed payment to cover the remainder of the annual program fees. Prepayment of the full year monthly fees will receive a 8% discount if paid by ACH, or a 5% discount if paid by credit card.

All processing fees are included in rates quoted above.

Long Course Only will be charged monthly fees for 4 months, April through July.

PAYMENT AND EARLY DEPARTURE REQUIREMENTS

While we offer payment on a monthly basis, training group durations (and your commitment) are:

September through March – Lemon, Hammer, Mako, Leopard

September through July – Tiger, Pre-Senior, Senior

For those participating in Short Course (Sept-Mar) groups, you will be given an opportunity in February or March to decide whether you would like your swimmer to continue participation from April through July (Long Course).

For those that must leave the program before the end of the season, the following notices are required:

· If a Lemon, Hammer, Mako, or Leopard swimmer departs from the team earlier than March 1st, written or e-mail notice must be provided to their coach. At the time of departure, the swimmer will be charged for one additional month of monthly swimming group fees. Any outstanding balance for unmet volunteer hours will be collected upon departure as well.

· If a Tiger, Pre-Senior or Senior swimmer departs from the team earlier than July 1st, written or e-mail notice must be provided to their coach.  At the time of departure, the swimmer will be charged for one additional month of monthly swimming group fees.  Any outstanding balance for volunteer hours will be collected upon departure as well.

In the absence of written notice and acceptance by the team, you will be charged for the entire season for which you enrolled.

VARIABLE COSTS (During the Season)

  • Team Logo Swim Cap/Team Suits:  A team logo swim cap (either latex or silicone) is required for Shark swimmers competing at swim meets. Latex caps are available from the coaches.  Silicone caps may be special ordered after the start of the season. Team Suits are highly recommended and will be made available shortly after the start of the season.  Costs vary by gender and selection.
  • Practice Equipment:  Swimmers must have their own practice suits, goggles and additional gear as required by group level.  See Training Groups for details on this gear.
  • Meet Entry Fees:   Participation in competition meets, both Home and Away, requires entry fees to the meet host.  These fees vary by event and are clearly stated in the meet announcement for each meet, and typically included on the event page. All of these will be billed directly to the swimmer’s account after the event.   All meets billed to a family account will include a $5 processing charge.  Meet entry fees cannot be refunded once entries are submitted, even if the swimmer does not participate.
