PRACTICE CHANGES THIS WEEK: 

 

NO practice at KCAC this Friday due to the meet at KCAC. Practice is as follows as Sumner: 

Gold Elite: 4-6 PM 

Gold: 5-6:30 PM 

Silver Elite: 6-7:30 PM 

Silver: 6-7:30 PM 

Bronze: 5-6 PM (dive tank) 

 

Saturday practice: Gold Elite/Silver Elite: 8-10 AM @ Sumner, Gold/Silver: 10-11:30 AM @ Sumner 

 

Next week: no practice at KCAC again due to the meet. However, we are participating. Practice times at Sumner may be adjusted.  

 

 

SWIM MEETS:  

Mark Olson Meet Recap: Great job to all our VAST swimmers that competed at the Mark Olson meet this weekend! It was fun to see swimmers try some new events, get some huge drops, and cheer for each other during races! New top ten swims were Austin Mitchell (25 fly, 25 free), Evan Mitchell (500 free, 50 fly), Theo Putt (200 breast, 100 IM), Joshua Yost (1650 free). Congrats again to our swimmers! 

Meets in the summer fill very quicklyPlease make sure if you would like to attend, that you declare your intent to attend as sson as possibleWe often will send a first draft of the entries in before the final deadline to secure our spot 

May Flowers May 3-5th: Our first long course (50 meter pool set up) meet of the year is May Flowers.   Swimmers must have a PNS Silver Time to enter.   Entries have been submitted 

Pac Coast, May 17th-19th: This meet is open to all swimmersIt is short course (25 yards, like our practice pools usually) @ Snohomish Please enter by April 24th   

Scottsdale Cactus Classic, Memorial Day weekend, May 24th-26th: This is a great travel opportunity for a long course meet.   Swimmers must meet the time standards, but it is a little complicated with the A and B sessions so if you are interested in attending and unsure on how to enter, please just make notes of your availability in the notes and the coaches will enter.   For more information on the entry requirements, time standards, etc can be found in the meet information: 1265098_44b97455-fde1-4fb5-93e5-20c8a5e29d1a.pdf (gomotionapp.com) Please enter by april 26th  

VAST Summer Sprints Meet: June 1st/2nd : This meet is open to all swimmers and is Long CourseIt is a great way for your swimmers to get Long Course opportunitiesThere is no time standards for Saturday’s events.   Swimmers must have a silver time to enter the 400 IM/400 Free/1500 on Sunday.   There is also a time trial session on Sunday for the events not offered on SaturdayThis is the best way to get your volunteer hours for trimester 3.   Volunteer and Event signs ups are now live Please enter by May 6th to guarantee your participation. I have to know how many spots we have available for other teams.  

 

Wenatchee Travel Meet June This Family Travel meet is a great opportunity for all swimmers.   Travel meets are a fun way to hang out with new friends and race against some different competitionAll swimmers can attend and participateWe highly encourage all swimmers to go swim some different events. Event selection is now available! Please enter by May 15th 

 

 

To Enter Meets:  

How do I enter swim meets? 

To enter meets, log on to your account on the website, go to the events tab, click edit commitment and select "Yes". If you do not wish to attend you can select "No", but this is not necessary. In the notes field, enter days your child can attend and if there are any other special requests for events. Please note that you can select events on your own, but the coach may change them based on what they would like to see your swimmer compete in. You must enter the event by the deadline which is posted under the event itself. Most meets needed to be entered at least 3 weeks in advance.

TEAM GEAR:  We are a TYR teamSwimmers are expected to wear TYR suits at championship meets.   Check out the team store to place an order for gear.  Swimmers that will be attending practices at an outdoor pool may want to order a parka for the upcoming colder months.
