Volunteer Opportunity: Piedmont Play Like a Girl+ Event |
| Opportunity coming soon to represent PST at Piedmont’s 3rd annual Play Like a Girl+ Event! This interactive event will give girls ages 2-18 the chance to learn about over 20 different sports. PST is looking for swimmers and parents to work at our booth, answering questions, leading fun activities, and getting the word out about the swim team. Olympic gold medalist Dana Vollmer will also be participating, so volunteers can also look forward to meeting Dana! Save the date: the event will take place on May 6 from 10:00 am-1:00 pm at Witter Field in Piedmont. Volunteer sign-ups are coming soon. Questions? Please get in touch with Kira Goodman. |
Team Uniforms: |
| For any members who requested smaller sizes, please arrange to pick up your items. Please get in touch with George at [email protected] to make the exchange. This mainly concerns the Blue and Bronze groups, but there were a few in Silver as well. New members to the Blue group in January also have uniforms waiting for them. |

There are many ways to stand up for someone without jeopardizing your own well-being and, in doing so, become an active bystander. In this article, hear from an expert who explains what it means to be an active bystander and learn how to safely help someone in need. Tip of the Week: |
| Spring is upon us, and with it comes Sunscreen Season! As a reminder to all families, new and old, please sunscreen your athlete (or have them do it themselves) before practice and at meets. We are fortunate to be able to train and compete outdoors year-round. However, that also means our swimmers get a LOT of sun exposure. Please protect your little ones and remind the big ones to protect themselves with sunscreen (preferably year-round, but especially as the sun gets stronger). Doing it 30 minutes before practice helps the sunscreen absorb before getting in the pool and is also easier on the pool chemistry. And don’t forget to apply SPF lip balm and check the expiration date of your sunscreen if it’s been sitting in a cabinet since last summer! |

| Have you noticed that there’s a meeting of officials around 8 am at swim meets? Those meetings provide officials with info about how that specific meet will run as well as a general briefing on the rules.
