True Team Results - 2nd Place: Way To Go Athletes
For the first time in 10 years, Centennial finished 2nd in the 2025 Section 7AA True Team championship. This was a huge accomplishment for the team and a wonderful motivator for the athletes. They have been working hard and it is paying off. Congratulations to all of the athletes that participated in the event, from bring an athlete or a spectator. It takes a lot of hard work to pull off a 2nd place win, from both swimmers and divers.
Some highlights from the weekend:
- Starting out the day with diving, Cordelia Schultz took 5th place in the dive section of the event.
- Our 200 Medley Relay A Team dropped over a second from their previous best time. Both Amelia Pole and Sophia Nguyen posted season best splits (31.8 and 24.5) for their breaststroke and freestyle legs.
- Leilani Gandy-Johnson vaulted up multiple positions from her seeds to post two top 8 finishes in the 200 and 100 freestyle.
- While swimming in the same 500 heat, Delaney Linser and Aania Falak dropped a combined 35 seconds!
- 24-seeded Evelyn Nelson dropped 5 seconds in the 100 backstroke, resulting in a 15th place finish.
- Amelia Pole shaved 2 seconds off her 100 breaststroke to finish 3rd in a very competitive field.
- Our substitute Rookies crushed their 200 and 400 Freestyle relays. 5 of their 6 splits were season best times!
Great job athletes, you should be so proud of your efforts and teamwork. Roll cougs!!
