Section Finals Results - Swim and Dive

Jen Schultz DuCharme

The swim team competed valiantly in the 2025 Section 7AAs, finishing 5th out of 8 teams.  39 out of our 42 entries resulted in Personal Best times during the Thursday prelims and/or the Saturday finals.  In addition, we took home first place in 3 of the 12 contested events.

  1. The 200 Medley Relay led off the meet with a first place finish. Our time of 1:51.24 also met the State qualifying time.
  2. Sophia Nguyen also doubled in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke.
  3. The 100 backstroke was our highest scoring event, as Sophia, Lydia and Claira finished 1st, 2nd and 5th.  In the consolation heat, Lucy Foster gained a valuable 9th place finish.
  4. In addition, several swimmers contributed some key improvements to their point totals this year.  Jolynn Sasson, Emily Quayle, Annelise Lattimore, Leilani Gandy-Johnson and Maddy Uelmen scored team points this year )by finishing in the top 16) for the first time.

The dive team competed in the 2025 sections 7AAs on Friday with great results. Cordelia broke 300 points on her 11 dives to finish in fifth place. She moved up six places from last year's sections. Leah also had a great meet, making it all the way through to the finals for a 16th finish. To begin in August as a diving newbie and to finish as a sectional scorer is truly remarkable.

Congratulations to all the athletes for an incredible season.
