Welcome to the Kanawha Swim Team website! Kanawha has had a competitive swim team since 1955 and was a founding member of the James River Aquatic Club. The 2025 swim season will mark Kanawha's 70th year of competitive swimming. Today, the Kanawha swim team is a group of over 300 swimmers, ages 5-18 who practice and compete as a team in the JRAC league. The team enjoys a 9 week season with practice beginning in late May, meets on Monday evenings in June and July and a final championship meet in late July.
KRA SWIM TEAM MISSION: To teach competitive stroke technique while also nurturing a love and enthusiasm for the sport of swimming. Our goal as a group is to learn and foster lifelong swimming and fitness skills, develop character & promote good sportsmanship among teammates and in competitions, share in an enthusiastic, high energy recreational team sport, and build strong friendships for years to come.
