Midlakes Water Polo is a recreational league that emphasizes sportsmanship, education,
skill development, and participation through friendly competition.
Water Polo is open to any member of the 26 Midlakes Teams. Participants must be active,
dues-paying members of current Midlakes Clubs in good standing.

Suits that are NOT Allowed Suits that are allowed

If an athlete is wearing a year-round club team suit, the referee will give them a chance to change their suit, If this does not happen, then that athlete will be asked to exit the pool and will not longer be eligible to play until they change their suit.
Pool deck apparel-
Coaches and referees are restricted from wearing any year-round club apparel.
Athletes should not wear year-round apparel or suits in field of play.
Spectators have no restrictions.
A reminder that every member of the coaching staff must be certified in Lifeguard Training or Coaches Safety Training and SafeSport before the season begins. Head coaches must also attend a mandatory rules clinic and pass a rules test before the first game of the second week of the season. Finally, coaches must maintain official regular season and tournament rosters that accurately reflect members participating on their teams.

What: Midlakes Water Polo referee training. Anyone that is interested in being a referee for this Midlakes Water Polo season is welcome to attend.

Please arrive at _____ Pool at 7:30am, we will have a 15-20 minute "classroom" session and then a hands-on ref training during 10u, 12u and 14u scrimmages. Scrimmages will probably go until about 11:30am. Okay to just do just one day or both days.

Coaches must submit a tournament roster form that includes any athlete participating in the tournament. Rosters are due at the Tournament Coaches Meeting. Please remember that Midlakes recommends athletes play up no more than one age group.

Information for Parent Representatives
Every club that participates in Midlakes Water Polo must have one parent representative to sit on the Midlakes Water Polo Committee. Parent Representatives should also plan to attend all meetings of the Committee, and will also act as the primary liaison between their Club and the League.
REGISTRATION FORMS
Please remember that, as of the 2017 season, all water polo players must adhere to the same registration requirements as Midlakes swimmers. This means clubs are responsible for ensuring that athletes and parents have completed BOTH the Midlakes Hold Harmless Form AND Lystedt Act Concussion Information Sheet as well as appropriate SafeSport training.
