We will participate in 5 Dual Meets this season.  Each dual meet will take place on a Saturday beginning at 7:30 am and usually finishing around 1:00 pm (if not sooner) 

The age of a swimmer on June 1 determines the age group in which that swimmer will participate (6 & under, 8 & Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-18).  Each swimmer may swim in three individual events and two relays in his or her age group.  Each event has one or more heats of six swimmers each.  Swimmers are seeded into heats by their event times from previous meets. 

In order to swim for the Tallyn's Tiger Sharks, we require all swimmers wear the official team swim suit.  Team suit fittings will occur if possible. WE provide size charts to measure your swimmer and pick the best size.  Suit purchases are included in team registration.

After the regular season, each division holds 2 Prelim Meets to determine which swimmers will move on to swim in the Championship meet the following Saturday.  MHSL by-laws state that for a swimmer to compete in Prelims and/or championships, he or she must have attended at least 10 practices during the regular season and swum in at least two dual meets.   

The Championship meet is very exciting.  The top sixteen swimmers from our divisions Prelims (in each of the 90 events), as well as alternates and relay swimmers, are all brought together for this team competition.  All swimmers are encouraged to attend and cheer on their teammates. 

The final meet of the season is All Stars, where all divisions of the MHSL swimmers compete. To qualify, swimmers must beat a pre-set time in an event during a Dual Meet, Prelim or Championships.  Refer to All Stars tab for more details.
