Scholarship Guidelines
The Tallyn's Tiger Sharks Swim Team provides registration fee scholarship to children who, without financial assistance, would not be able to participate in our program.
Guidelines
- All swimmers are eligible to apply.
- This application is a request for assistance with the team fee and non resident fee. It does not constitute a request for assistance with suits or seasonal expenses.
- Scholarship awards vary between 10% and 100% of the participation fee.
- Applicants will be notified as to the status of their application prior to the start of the season. This notice will indicate the approved scholarship amount, balances due for the upcoming season, and participation requirement. Team placement will not occur until any owed balances are paid.
- Assistance is not guaranteed with the submission of this scholarship request.
- Application should be scanned and emailed to the Wheatlands Board at [email protected] and must be received by TBD.
Requirements for eligibility:
- Athlete must meet age requirements to swim.
- Commitment to attend a minimum of 60% of scheduled practices and meets.
- Participation by a family member in the agreed upon number of volunteer shifts during the season, as stipulated in the scholarship award.
- Application must be completed by a parent, guardian, or head of household with all requested information provided. (Incomplete applications will not be considered)
Priority will be given to eligible youth meeting one or more of the criteria below:
- Member of a multi-child family
- Living in a single parent home
- Receiving assistance from programs such as: Food Stamps, Medicaid, SSI, Foster Care, WIC, etc. (Must provide written documentation of participation in these programs to receive priority status.)
- Written recommendation by school representatives, social workers, youth community center workers, or other social services representatives.
