Tallyn's Tiger Sharks Board Positions
As we are a new and smaller team, many of these positions may need to be combined. Volunteering for a board position while we are still getting established will be a big job. You will likely be doing your board position and volunteering during the meets as needed. The main job descriptions are listed for each position below.
Presidents (Rusti Jarosik & Julie Nieto)-- -- President is primarily concerned with elements related to the vision of the team. The president is responsible for hiring all coaching staff, updating and securing contracts for coaching staff and pool usage, as well assisting all Board members in their functions, as needed. Coordinates monthly board meeting agenda and open business with the Communications Secretary.
Volunteer Coordinator (Meghan Stuart) -- -- Coordinate parent volunteer jobs for all scheduled home and away meets and social events. [email protected]
Social Coordinator (Jamie Davidson) -- -- Coordinate and set dates for all social events during the season. Secure and oversee chairs for social co-chair positions (Concessions, Party in the Park, Pancake Breakfast, Fun and Spirit Practice).
Apparel Coordinator -- -- Coordinates Team Suits, Spirit Wear and All Stars. In charge of design, distribution of all Spiritwear and suits. Assists in managing All Stars gear for the Team. [email protected]
Parent Rep (Josh Miller) -- -- Primary communicator between the Tallyn's Tiger Sharks and the Mountain Hi Swim League (MHSL). Represents Tallyns Reach Tigersharks at monthly MHSL meetings from February-September (excluding August). Coordinates meet essentials with opposing teams before and during meets (i.e. parking restrictions, concessions availability, etc.).
Head Official (Shawn Smith) -- -- Coordinates training of officials: Stroke & Turn, Starter, DQ scribe, Deck Referee, and Meet Referee. Responsible for securing above positions at all home meets and fulfilling requests for officials at away meets. [email protected]
Treasurer (Kevin Lybass)-- -- Manages budget (income/expense), banking and Taxes; coordinates with MHSL regarding insurance coverage. Coordinates online team registration and league insurance binder.
Communications/Secretary (Emily Brummel) -- -- Performs communication functions such as Board meeting minutes and team informational emails both before and during the season. Coordinates webpage updates and changes as required with WebMaster. [email protected]
Scoring (Julie Miller) -- -- In charge of three areas of responsibility. Pre-Meet, Meet Day, and Post Meet. In addition to required expertise in the Meet Manager software. (Basic training is provided by the MHSL one day preseason) the MHSL does require the scoring chair to attend a preseason meeting. This meeting gives the changes, rules, etc. that will be used uniformly thru out the league by all teams
Sponsorship Coordinator-- in charge of all aspects of Sponsorship. Seeks sponsorships as team fundraisers. Coordinates, community nights at restaurants, team lunches, set up/storage of sponsorship banners, shout out at home meets, and year-end thank yous. [email protected]
Other responsibilities: While each of the positions above has a main set of duties, there are a number of items that are divided up among the Committee Chairs above such as: Awards Committee, Meet Operations (Set up Tear Down), Assistants for Volunteer Coordinator, Social Coordinator, Scoring and Sponsorship, Webmaster, etc.
