Workshare & Volunteering

"Win, lose or draw, … 'Great race, sweetheart. Now let's go have dinner.'"
- Dick Franklin, father of 5x Olympic swimming gold medalist, Missy Franklin

Swimming is an individual, team, and full family sport – all three are important parts to make the sport a success.   It takes all of us to create a memorable summer experience where our swimmers learn, grow, and have fun.

Our swim team runs on parent volunteers.  We’re grateful to have so many active and engaged parents leaning in.  Our newer families depend on our returning ones to help teach, mentor, and train them on the ins and outs of each volunteer job.  In this way, we deepen our community – and have a ton of fun doing it!

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

  • Tigershark families/parents are required to sign up for a minimum of 6 swim meet segments or special event segments in the regular season.  All volunteers must be 15 or older.
  • Junior Tigershark families/parents are required to volunteer for 2 segments at swim meets. If you also have a Tigershark, you must complete a total of 6 segments (not 8).

  • At the end of the season if the volunteer requirement has not been met a $300 charge will be made through teamunify by the Triangle Vice President.
