Carib Swim Team members achieved an incredible 107 new personal bests on Sunday, out of 123 swims. This calculates to an incredible 87% best times! And many of these were huge drops! These numbers don’t include relay lead-offs, which added some more personal bests. Super Splash Swim Team attended, making this the first meet in over a year for Carib Swim Team that wasn’t an intra-squad meet. This is a new effort by CST for supplementing our revenue in order to upgrade our facility and services. Thanks to the grant from the R4CR program Carib Swim Team was able to purchase and install solar lights on the premises to increase safety for all our members. We’d like to thank all parties and people involved in this project! The next step for Carib Swim Team will be the complete renovation of the pump room, which is planned to start in April. Pro Physio Prinsen and Studiomart Architects sponsored Carib Swim Team’s second meet of 2021, the Go-The-Distance Invitational held on March 14, 2021. Carib Swim Team was the only team to participate, but they benefited with many new best times swum, and first-time swims in a lot of events. New Carib Swim Team records were set by four swimmers. Ballerina Jewelers / Carib Swim Team annual Sweetheart Classic Carib Swim Team hosted its annual Sweetheart Classic on Valentine’s Day, February 14th sponsored by Ballerina Jewelers. Due to the pandemic, it was a smaller, intrasquad meet this year. However, spirits were high, as many new personal best times were achieved by the 32 swimmers in attendance. Four CST members that are registered with the French Federation were afforded a very last minute opportunity to compete in Guadeloupe this last weekend. Even though approval wasn't fully given until two days before they were to travel, all four members peformed very well, with almost 100% best times!
