At the 2011 Gil Stoval BBQ Festival Invitational NAC had three swimmers earn high point honors. Will McCall won the 11-12 boys in dominate fashion winning all 10 of his events. Youli Yao earned runner-up honors in the 10 & under girls while Erika Giuse was runner-up for 11-12 girls. The weather behaved better this year, but the Nashville Aquatic Club swimmers swam up a storm over the past weekend! Several swimmers participated in their first NAC meet including Betsy Beuter, Emma Claire James, Andy Nguyen, and Mary McKennon Pierce. Curtis Lovelace assisted Stanford in taking the 3rd place trophy in this past weekend's NCAA Division 1 Men's Swimming and Diving Championships! Pictured is the Stanford team with their 3rd place trophy. They had the lead on the first day and did great with only 13 swimmers. Eighteen swimmers is the max number allowed per team. Nashville Aquatic Club hires several new Coaches Becky Stopkotte – Developmental Coordinator: Going into the long course season we are pleased to announce the addition of Becky Stopkotte to our coaching staff. NAC has many outstanding performances at the SES Championship 11-12 Girls lead the way by dominating the 11-12 age group scores once again. Annie Kyriakidis won the High Point honors with teammates Tatum Wade & Erika Giuse finishing just a few points back for second and third. In releasing the 2011 Club Excellence Program results, Nashville Aquatic Club was once again recognized as a Gold Medal team by USA Swimming. NAC outscored its closest Southeastern Swimming competitor by almost 20,000 points. NAC has been awarded Gold Medal status in every year of the program's existence, dating back to 2002. Districts 2011 – 8-Under Championships Bang! That is how the 8-Under Championships began. Setting the tone of the meet, Kallie Chelsvig and Mikayla Oleksyk took 1 st and 2 nd place in the 100 Free, with Mary Oldham and Arden Oberlander placing 4 th and 7 th respectively. In the boys arena, John Windley, Brenden Burke, and Thomas Miller took 3 rd, 5 th, and 8 th place respectively.
