Dart Camp 2024 

Enjoy a swim lesson/practice, a sport/theme of the week with activities and games, free swim time and more at Dart Camp at Community Pool.  This camp is for children ages 6-12.  Camp is from 8:30 am-1 pm daily Monday-Friday.  Each day includes: 

·         A swim team practice coached by Dart and Summerdart staff 

·         Weekly theme, activity or sport offered 

·         Arts/craft/games and activities at Community Pool and Community Park. 

·         A free swim time at Community Pool. 

There are six one-week sessions, each with a theme of the week:

Other information 

Swim Lesson/Practice: Children will receive a daily swim lesson/practice, with instruction provided by Dart and Summerdart coaching staff.  Competition will be offered on Friday, with an additional optional Saturday morning swim meets at Community Pool (dates of meets noted above). Children must meet the minimum swim skills of10 yards freestyle with breathing, 10 yards backstroke, and comfortable in all parts of the pool to be eligible for Dart Camp. Swim practices will focus on technique and stroke improvement. New and novice swimmers will be taught freestyle, backstroke and diving technique.  Experienced swimmers will receive stroke technique in all four strokes including butterfly and breaststroke, focusing on a different stroke daily, and will receive instruction in starts and turns. 

Davis Community Track and Field Club (DCTFC): we partner with DCTFC to offer an introduction to Track and Field hosted by the Davis Community Track and Field Club under the supervision of Head DHS Track and DCTFC Head Coach Spencer Elliott and DCTFC coaches. Dart Camp coaches will escort campers to the Davis High Track at 8:45-10:45 and help the DCTFC staff, then walk the kids back  to Community Pool for the rest of the daily session.

REGISTRATION 

Registration opens Thursday March 21 at 7:00 am.  Children may sign up for multiple weeks.  As sessions fill you can be placed on a wait list. Children must be age 6 by the first day of their camp.  

We recommend setting up a parent portal prior to the opening of registration to help registration go more quickly. If you have a parent portal for Dart Swim School, you can use that to register. If you do not have a parent portal yet, you can find info on setting this up here.

DART has partnered with a new company, CAPTYN, to streamline our swim school registration process. FEES AND REFUND POLICY 

  • Fees are noted above. Families enrolling three or more swimmers in the same household qualify for a third swimmer discount (the first two swimmers pay full fees and all other siblings pay half fee).  Third child discount is applied to the lowest registration fee.  

  • Once you have registered, no refunds will be made without a medical excuse, a doctor’s note and the coach’s permission. There is a non-refundable fee of $50.00 per swimmer should a refund be granted.  No refunds will be granted after June 1. Enrollment is nontransferable and cannot be prorated based on vacations or partial attendance.  We do not offer makeup sessions for illness or vacation. We do try to offer makeup sessions if possible due to cancelations for weather or pool issues but these are not guaranteed.
