Before you go any further, All divers MUST be current members of AAU to dive in our pool.  To join AAU, click here, and follow these steps: 1) Choose "Get a Membership", then "youth membership". 2) Select Diving. 3) Assign your membership to Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics, Club Code W3EFWF  This code must be attached to your membership. 4) AFTER registering with AAU, come back to the PEAQ website, and click the link to register below.   Any questions about this or the clinic can be directed to the instructor,

 

NEXT STEP: Please contact the instructor directly first, in order to verbally set up a private lesson, BEFORE you register on the website.  You need to make sure Vernon has availabiltity, because once you register in the sytem, your card will be charged immediately.  To agree on a time slot, please email Coach Vernon at [email protected].

HOW TO REGISTER:
  1. Make contact with Coach Vernon via email FIRST. Indicate in the email the swimmer's age, skill level, and goals for the lesson.
  2. The instructor will reply in a timely manner to set up a date and time for your lesson.
  3. AFTER you here back from him via email, you may then click the "Register Now" link below, choose "DIVING" from the program menu on the left, then you will "Diving Private Lessons" come up on the screen with multiple time slots available on Mondays (these are "filler" slots, keep reading for more info).  This step is important:  You must choose a new "slot" (1 - 20) EVERY time you do another lesson.  One swimmer cannot occupy the same slot twice within the new registration system.  Additionally, the slots will ALL read "Monday" at "x" time.  THESE TIMES ARE ARBITRARY, and are NOT the time your lesson will actually take place.  Because you have been instructed to set up the lesson time via email BEFORE you actually regsiter for the lesson in the system, you will already have a mutually agreed upon time and date. Choose a slot, then click "Add to Cart".
  4. Upon completion of registration print a copy of your receipt!
  5. Bring this printed receipt, plus proof of AAU diving insurance to your lesson.  If you do not have AAU diving insurance, please read initial information above about how to purchase it.
    • Please note that due to the coaches’ busy schedules, there may be a wait period between first contact with the coach and completion of the lesson.
PAYMENT:
All private lessons MUST be paid in full prior to the start of the lesson.  The cost of a 60 minute session is $80   Payments will be made via credit card through our club website after you schedule a time and start date with the instructor.  Upon payment, a receipt will be emailed to you.  Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your scheduled lesson and show your printed receipt to the instructor.  If you don’t have proof of lesson purchase AND AAU insurance, the instructor will NOT teach the lesson. 
 
 
*** Please be mindful that lessons run consecutively every 60 minutes.  It is very important that you arrive for your lesson 5 minutes early so your diver is ready to get in the pool at his/her designated lesson time.
 

CANCELLATION/NO SHOW POLICY:
  • If you need to cancel a lesson, 24 hours notice is required.  Please contact the coach via email if a lesson needs to be canceled.

 

  • If you verbally schedule a lesson, register and pay in the system, and then do not show up (without notifying your coach in advance), you WILL NOT be refunded for the cost of your lesson
 
LOCKER ROOM & POOL DECK POLICY:
No parents will be allowed in the locker rooms. If a child needs assistance with getting dressed or with other bathroom needs, families are welcome to use the two restrooms in the hall located outside the pool area and beneath the stands.  Additionally, no parents are allowed on the pool deck.
 
PRIVATE LESSON POLICY:
A parent or guardian must stay in the stands for the entire length of a swimmer’s private lesson.  Any questions about private lessons that can’t be answered by a coach can be sent to [email protected].
