Hosted by Surrey Knights, at Surrey Sport & Leisure Complex, Winter Divisional reunited ten swim teams from the Vancouver Fraser Division and around 350 swimmers. Uma, Jaden, Freddy and Ryan from Elite A attended the competition. By Coach Daniel, There is always room to keep preparing and achieving new goals. That was the team experience this past weekend (Feb 1-Feb 2) at the LMR Champs, at Watermania. Saturday and Sunday morning sessions gave out 13&O athletes, while our 12&U swimmers owned the evenings. They all had the chance to try new events and reach new goals. By Coach Daniel, Weeks into the new year, our Gator athletes returned to competition at the CDSC Miles Schootman swim meet. Hosted by the Canadian Dolphins, the Vancouver Aquatic Centre was home to 400 swimmers from 12 teams. Three long days of competition demonstrated that speed and endurance are the only required elements to succeed. By Coach Hope, In one of the first meets of 2025, the Juniors, Gold, and Silver members competed in the Chena 12 & under meet and achieved fantastic results. On Saturday, they competed in 100 IM, 50 free, 100 free, 50 fly, 100 fly, and the 200 mixed IM relay. Best times were seen all across the board, with multiple swimmers achieving and approaching divisional qualification times. 2025 January to March Schedule Change Notes Swim Meets and Practice Changes: - On January 25&26, Elite, Senior and Junior are attending the CDSC Mies Schootman invitational and Chena 12under meet. The practices for those groups are cancelled. - On Feb 1 & 2, Senior and Junior are attending the LMR champs, and a few Elites attend PSW invitational. Teams from all over BC (mainland and island) attend the meet at Watermania, from Dec 19th to Dec 22nd. The first day of the meet was the Fast in Fast meet. By Coach Hope, The Gators developmental and competitive groups participated in the last time trial of this season on Saturday, December 21st. With events ranging from 25m kick to 200 free. Excellent swims were seen from all groups, including lots of best times despite racing without a diving block. The immense effort from all the swimmers was evident throughout the night, and it was made possible by months of hard work this fall. By Coach Karman, On Sunday. December 15, 2024, 15 swimmers from Gold, Silver, and Alligator attended the Chena Development Meet at Harry Jerome Pool. Our swimmers had a great time racing and cheering for their peers. There were many highlights, one being many swimmers best times in 200 and 100 IM with 3 new LMR qualifiers! With the upcoming Christmas season we celebrated with candy canes! Congratulations to the new LMR qualifiers, Chanel Iv, Seva Furanov, and Ray Yang!
