18 and Under World 100 Alex Crisera https://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/news/usa-swimming-honors-third-annual-18-under-world-100/

You are in rare water being a part of Beach Cities Swimming! This morning, USA Swimming named the 2018-19 USA Swimming National Junior Team, and our very own Alex Crisera is on that list! Alex is one of 21 high schoolers to be named and one of 35 women named to the team. It was her 100 Back (1:00.89) at Junior Nationals this summer that made the list. That time would have been good enough for a second and slivers from a third swim at the 2016 Olympic Trials!! Beach...

Arriving on time, warming up, checking in and out with coaches, and getting to their races are the most important part of their responsibilities. Some DQs to note this time, and some time drops as follows: Sola: 50 breast- good swim, no DQ, 100 IM time of 1:52.9 Amia: time drop of 3 sec on 25 back, good swim on 50 free time of 46.8 Noah: 3...

2018 LAI Roger Brown - Roger took his last shot at trying to nab that elusive Sectional Cut this season at LAI. He worked so hard and came so close. These were both best times for him, just not what he needed to reach his goal. 100 Back - 1:03 200 Back - 2:17 2018 Summer LC Sectionals - 11th overall and 3rd in Medium Team Division Sectionals was a championship meet for some and tune up for others. National level kids swam many "off " events and relays to...

CIF and LA City Swim Championships saw our Beach Cities Swimmers topping the charts and dropping time all over the place. With most of them sick or coming off of the plague that recently went through our team, we still seemed to shine. 30+ swimmers, and if I missed someone please reach out to me for a correction to this submission. I remember when there were just a handful of BCS kids competing at this level and even less making finals. Great work BCS coaches! Our staff did a great...

This past weekend Beach Cities Swimming participated in the 2014 Penguins Aquatics Club IMR/IMX Power Point Meet at the South Gate Swim Stadium! This two day meet was jammed packed with quick paced events; probably the fastest meet BCS has been to in regards to time between events. The IMR/IMX meet special for many reasons, not only was the structure of the meet different but the swimming environment was also something that BCS is not usually accustomed to. Regardless or the obstacles, BCS swam like true high performance athletes under...

Beach Cities Swimming kicked off the start of the 2014 fall swim season at the Team Santa Monica BRW Short Course Age Group Meet this past weekend! BCS brought a record high of 92 swimmers to the meet! 92! What a great way to start out the season strong! The weather could not have been more perfect at Santa Monica College; clear skies and sunny both days. All of our BCS swimmers did a fantastic job, demonstrating that even though we are only a month into our fall season training,...

Beach Cities Swimming competed in the 2014 Southern California Swimming Junior Olympic Championships at Mission Viejo from Wednesday, July 20 – Monday, July 25. We had more swimmers qualify and compete at Junior Olympics this year than ever before and the results speak for themselves. Not only did we make it to JOs with record breaking numbers but we also had an outstanding percentage of our swimmers make it back for finals in multiple events. The coaches couldn’t be more proud of the BCS athletes and we would like to...

The Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim is one of the most popular long distance swims in the United States. Last year over 1100 swimmers completed this grueling two-mile course and this year over 1200 competed. Swimmers enter the water on the south side of the 10th Street Lifeguard Tower (South of the Hermosa Beach Pier). They swim round the Pier, parallel to shore then round the Manhattan Beach Pier and finish on the beach. Beach Cities brough a slew of athletes to race the course and we came out strong and...
