Olympic Gold Medalist Nathan Adrian took a break from training to spend some quality time with Beach Cities swimmers. Check out the attached photos for a sneak peak of the private sesison that was bid on and won by some of our Junior Olympic and Sectional swimmers.

This past weekend was the 2014 CA Rose Bowl B/R/W Long Course Meet at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center and Beach Cities Swimming had a fantastic weekend! The weather was on our side this weekend. Thankfully there was no rain coming down in sheets! BCS brought 43 swimmers to this meet. Our swimmers have been training hard and this weekends time drops are evidence to that! This past Saturday Beach Cities Swimming participated in the Pacific Committee R/W Short Course Meet, hosted by the Penguin Aquatic Club. This meet was only a one day meet that was designed for our younger swimmers on the White and Red teams and Gold swimmers who wanted another shot at short course times. Beach Cities Swimming kicked off lthe 2014 long course season this past weekend at the 2014 JCA March Madness Meet. Swam at the John C. Argue Swim Stadium in Los Angeles, our BCS swimmers braved the hot sun and swam impressively! Both Saturday and Sundaymorning sessions highlighted our younger BCS swimmers, while the afternoon was all about our older BCS swimmers! Beach Cities Swimming held its annual swim banquet at the Crown Plaza in Redondo Beach on Sunday, March 9. It was a gorgeous venue and the team dried off and got all dressed up to celebrate their amazing accomplishments! Participation awards were given to each swimmer in attendance and individual awards were presented by each group coach. The evening featured a silent auction that raised over $6,000 for the club, a sit down dinner, an awesome slide show recapturing the memories from the past year, an incredible key note address...

When it rains it pours... and boy did it! But that couldn't stop Beach Cities from giving it their all today at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center. Even though lightening would eventually close down the meet for the finals session, the swimmers braved the rain during prelims and put up great competition for our committee. The 2014 Pacific Committee Championships kicked off on Friday, February 28 at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena, California. Beach Cities own Nikki Cooper, Sean Keegan, and Kai Scarlet faced the weather and gave it their all. Heavy rain couldn't stop these fearsome athletes from swimming to best times in each of their prospective races. Nikki swam the 400 IM in 5:15.62, dropping 16.78 seconds off of her best time. SCS Club Championships concluded on Monday, February 18th after three awesome days of competition. The 200 freestyle races kicked off the day with Ryan O'Shaughnnessey and Alex Crisera representing BCS. Ryan swam the Boys 5-10 age group for a 22nd place finish in prelims and a time of 2:20.14 and Alex swam the Girls 11-12 age group dropping 1.61 seconds for a best time of 2:05.99. GREAT SWIM!! Day two of SCS Club Championships kicked off today at East LA College and Beach Cities Swimming had a great showing from multiple training groups. The day kicked off with Kai Scarlet and Ryan O'Shaughnessey both swimming hard and strong in the Boys 5-10 year old 200 IM. Ryan raced to a 20th place finish in prelims with a time of 2:39.46. Southern California Swimming kicked of the 2014 Club Championship Meet today at East Los Angeles College. This meet, also know as Super JOs, features the top 32 qualifiers from the Winter Junior Olympic. Those top 32 swim prelims and only the top 8 from prelims making it back later that night to swim again for a single championship final heat.
