Pacific Committee Championships (July 15-17, 2022) By now, you’ve all seen the fabulous report on our meet by one of our Meet Directors, Mel Kuo. This may have been the most fun and well-run meet the Pacific Committee has ever offered and it is all thanks to you, BCS Family! June Age Group Championships (June 17-20, 2022) Summer championship racing is underway! BCS finished in fourth place in the combined team competition at the June Age Group Championships, just 71.5 points from a podium finish and a reminder of the importance of relays (lost some valuable points there due to a few early takeoffs - learning moments!). Congratulations to all BCS athletes and coaches for earning the prestigious status as a 2022 ASCA Top 100 Age Group Team! 28th place out of more than 3,000 clubs nationwide! Truly remarkable! Results were compiled using USA Swimming results of top ranked athletes in the 10&Under and 11-12 age groups for the 2021 Long Course season and 2021-22 Short Course season. Spring JOs (March 10-13, 2022) The 2021-22 Short Course racing season culminated with the SoCal Swimming Spring Junior Olympic Championships last weekend in La Mirada. With 31 athletes, BCS competed in the Small Team division and…drumroll…WON THE MEET! The Men also won the Small Team competition, with the Women finishing 2nd. Sectionals Recap (March 3-6, 2022) I want to say a big congratulations to the 2022 Spring Sectionals Team - They earned a 3rd Place Finish in the Medium Size Team Division!!!!! x teams were at Sectionals from all of California and Nevada. Pacific Coast All-Star Meet On January 8, Southern California Swimming will take its top 32 11-14 year-old athletes to the Pacific Coast All-Star Meet in Pacifica, CA to compete against teams from Oregon and Pacific Northwest. 2021 Winter Sectionals Recap Senior 4 Senior 4 sent two swimmers to their first ever Sectionals. The group’s focus was WAG so we attended Sectionals for the experience of swimming at the next level meet while on about day 10 of taper but both Peyton and Farah did a great job at the meet. They enjoyed the team dinner and gift exchange and still raced well, just off their best times.
