TSC gets set to kick off the Long Course racing season at the John Grootveld Senior Officials Classic, Thursday, April 10-Sunday, April 13 at the University of Toronto Pool. This meet is held in memory of John Grootveld Senior, respected as one of the top volunteer/officials in Canada.  An OSOA memorial fund is set up to help educate swimming officials in Ontario. Oliver Straszynski (National) was among 24 swimmers  selected by Swimming Canada to attend a Male Junior Relay Camp in Victoria B.C, April 6-7. Coach Bill O’Toole was also in attendance at this camp. The goal was to identify and develop a group of male 100 and 200 freestyles capable of winning a medal in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. On Wednesday, February 26, 57 swimmers from the National, Gold 1, Gold 2, Silver 1 group, along with Coaches Bill O’ Toole, Dave Ling and Ashley Zaharia traveled to London for the 2014 Ontario Age Group Championships. Special thanks to our chaperones Claire Goodman, Kim Walcott Kelly, Maggie Riley and Vesna Micic and our bus driver T-Bird for your help with this meet. This past weekend swimmers in the Gold 1-3, Silver 1-2, and Bronze 1-2 groups attended the Newmarket Invitational. TSC swimmers from every group stepped up, achieved many personal best times and time standards. This meet also provided a first time heats and final opportunity for many of our 13 and over swimmers.
