The lane ropes have been put away and the swimmers have left the building.  The 2014 John Grootveld Sr Officials Classic provided more than 5,000 opportunities for 830 athletes to swim during the four day meet.  This accomplishment was the direct result of your enthusiastic participation -- volunteering to step out onto the deck and work 490 positions over seven sessions. Alexis Bragman (National Group) was selected by Swim Ontario to attend the Provincial “Train to Compete” Camp held in Waterloo from April 11-13th. Alexis was selected for the females born in 1998 group, and selection was based on the sum of FINA points (3 Events) accumulated from two (2) different Olympic Events not including the IM’s, plus either the 200 IM or the 400 IM. Coach Charles Kim also attended the camp. Congratulations Alexis!  

Congratulations to Kaitlin Gervais (National Group) who competed in her very first 10K open water race in Fort Myers, Florida on April 12. Open Water Results: Females: Zsofi Balazs placed 6th, Heather Maitland placed 11th, and Kaitlin Gervais placed 20th Males: Zack Chetrat placed 19th Congratulations!

TSC gets set to kick off the Long Course racing season at the John Grootveld Senior Officials Classic, Thursday, April 10-Sunday, April 13 at the University of Toronto Pool. This meet is held in memory of John Grootveld Senior, respected as one of the top volunteer/officials in Canada.  An OSOA memorial fund is set up to help educate swimming officials in Ontario. Oliver Straszynski (National) was among 24 swimmers  selected by Swimming Canada to attend a Male Junior Relay Camp in Victoria B.C, April 6-7. Coach Bill O’Toole was also in attendance at this camp. The goal was to identify and develop a group of male 100 and 200 freestyles capable of winning a medal in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. Swimmers were assessed based on their performance during dry-land activation, warm ups, test sets and warm downs. At the end of the camp 12 swimmers were identified to attend a relay based...

Registration for the Toronto Summer Swim Camp is now open! Our coaching staff is looking forward to another great summer at the beach.
