Richmond Swimmers Reach New Levels at Vancouver Swim Meet February 1, 2012 It was a great weekend of friends, fun and fast swimming at the Canadian Dolphin’s New Year’s Invitational. With 300 swimmers in attendance at the three day meet hosted at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre there were lots of opportunities to meet new people and to get to know team mates better. January 16, 2012 Coming off of a two week long training camp and some tough training was no obstacle for Richmond Rapids swimmers this weekend. Rapids swimmers turned out in numbers for the first Splash and Dash of the year. It was great to see such great participation on the second to last day of training camp. Congratulations to Artur Yushko (10) who made his AA qualifying time in the 50 freestyle. This qualifying time allows him to participate at the BC AA championships in Chilliwack in February. This year PAG and Regional swimmers with the Richmond Rapids organized a food drive in support of the 94.5 Beat Cares Toy & Food Drive and The Richmond Food bank. Samantha Gosel, Nicole Welsh, Eva Ryder, Kelsey Shaw and Mackenzie McCord asked swimmers from the club to donate non-perishable food items. Every swimmer who donated received a raffle ticket to win a Speedo Kickboard or a Speedo backpack. Thank you to everyone who helped support the food drive.
