We would like to draw your attention to the following points: 

  • Each National Federation may nominate their technical officials through the FINA GMS by the deadline for registrations. 
  • In order to submit each registration, please complete the participant's profile with the following information: personal data, passport copy or national ID, photo and the technical official's personal email address. Without this information in the GMS, the application is not valid.
Please note that only fully submitted registrations received within the established deadline will be considered for approval. 
 
FINA Swimming Coaches Certification Programme  has been relaunched as part of the 2018-21 Development Programme.  

Coach Curriculum (L2).

We would like to kindly remind you that those National Federations awarded with a FINA Clinic in 2018 may organise a FINA Swimming Coaches Certification Course  instead.  

Please note that the Swimming Coach Certification Course - Senior Coach Level (L3) will be available soon.

 TRINIDAD & TOBAGO HOST THE 1ST FINA SCHOOL FOR SWIMMING OFFICIALS IN 2016

The first 2016 edition of the FINA Swimming Officials Schools in the Americas was successfully hosted by the Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad & Tobago in San Fernando. Lecturers for the school were Soren Korbo, FINA TSC Honorary Secretary and Bill Hogan, former FINA TSC member. The school had a total of 55 participants whereas 50 participants were from the host Federation and 5 from Barbados.

The School was opened by Joseph Mc Leod, President of the Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad & Tobago. The School was very efficiently organised by the host Federation. Special thanks to Gregory Mitchell for the good preparation work.

The pool session was held at the St. Michaels Swimming Pool, an outdoor 25 m pool with 8 lanes, build 1999. Girls and boys from the Trinidad clubs were present. The participants were divided into 2 teams with the use of 3 digital watch per lane. The practice included 100m events, 50m events as well as a 4x50m medley mixed relay. The officials called more than 3 DQs during the pool session.

The Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad & Tobago must be congratulated for their hospitality and efficient way of organising the 1st edition of the 2016 FINA Swimming Officials Schools in the Americas.

 

 

 

Succesful FINA Coaches Level 3 Clinic in Trinidad & Tobago

From November 11 through the 15, 9 Coaches participated in a FINA Developmental Clinic lead by Barbadian David Farmer.

TRINIDAD & TOBAGO hosts

FINA ADVANCE LEVEL COACHES CLINIC SWIMMING 2015 NOVEMBER 11 - 15  

OBJECTIVE  
This objective of this intervention is as follows:  
- Update the participants by presenting them with advanced and proven theories in the art of coaching swimmers.  
- Support the professional development of local and regional coaches through the utilization of international human resources specialized and experienced in the sport of swimming.  
- Collaborate to improve the participating Coaches’ technical level, for the benefit of our National and Regional athletes in view of preparing them for qualifications in upcoming regional and international high level meets.    

PARTICIPANTS: Each Regional National Federation may nominate Coaches for this Clinic. The Nomination Form must be received no later than 9th November 2015 by the organizing committee.

Training for the programme will be for five (5) days. Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will receive a Certificate of participation in keeping with FINA standards and process for issuing of certificates.

FINA COACHES CLINIC IN SAINT LUCIA

St Lucia will be hosting a Fina Coaches Clinic from 21 - 30th September which will be facilitated by Fina lecturer Jim Richardson, click here for his bio.
 

Click here for the FINA guidelines for the Basic and Intermediate five day clinics along with the  format and topics which will be covered on a daily basis. Jim will be happy to address any additional issues the coaches and swimmers need.  For the pool sessions, Jim will work on a single stroke every day with the swimmers and then the starts and turns (with underwater harmonics) on the 5th day. 
 
The Morning Sessions will be for 2 hours - 9.30 am - 11.30 am  (Bay Gardens Hotel)
 
The pool session will be in the afternoon from 3.30pm - 5.30pm.

 

 

 

 

2015 Caribbean FINA Level 2 Coaches Clinic

May 4th – May 10th, 2015

 

The Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association (CIASA) in conjunction with FINA will host a Level 2 (Intermediate) Coaches Clinic beginning the evening of May 4th through May 10th, 2015. This is a two part program and attendees may participate in either program or both.
