Gold Squad

Gold Squad | High Performance Ages 14 & up (14 as of December 1st of current training season)

Gold Squad is designed for the advanced age group swimmer, ages 14 & up. These swimmers have achieved time standards for the Missouri Valley Championship meet in all four strokes as well as the individual medley events. A higher level of commitment is expected, as athletes continue to build on the foundation established in Silver and Bronze Squad(s). Progression beyond Gold will require that the athlete has demonstrated the ability to perform to the utmost of their ability in practice, can meet outlined training and performance markers, can balance attendance requirements with other responsibilities, and has expressed a desire to advance to National.

Standards of Training, Performance & Leadership for Athletes on Gold Squad:

• Gold Squad offers 7 practices per week and swimmers are required to attend 80% of practices offered. 
• Swimmers should have an IMX Score of 2500 or have achieved a minimum of two (2) 15 & Over 2023* MV Long Course Champs Time Standards.
• Athletes are expected to be able to consistently complete practice sessions as designed/instructed, to the utmost of their ability, while adhering to a consistent training schedule. 
• Athletes are expected to compete in swim meets as outlined in program information, including the Championship meet of the highest level for which they qualify 
• Athletes at this level demonstrate a high level of sportsmanship and leadership and have expressed a desire to advance beyond.

*We are currently utilizing the 2023 Long Course Time Standards until the 2025 MV LC Senior Championship Time Standards are officially established and published. Once available, the new standards will be carefully reviewed and compared to our existing benchmarks to determine alignment with our performance criteria.
