White Squad

White Squad | Ages 11 & Under

White Squad is for 11 and under swimmers who are able to swim all four strokes proficiently. Swimmers learn to execute legal flip turns (Free/Back) and open turns (Fly/Breast) with an approach of at least 10 yards/meters, as well as perform a legal start from the blocks for both Freestyle and Backstroke. Practices focus on introducing technical progressions for each stroke and proper kicking. At this level athletes will demonstrate their ability to follow directions set forth by the coach in practice and give the coach their undivided attention. White Squad offers up to three practices per week.

Standards of Training and Performance for swimmers on White Squad:

  • White Squad offers three practices per week and swimmers are encouraged to attend at least 2 practice per week for the full duration of practice.
  • Swimmers are expected to be able to consistently complete 60 minute practice sessions as instructed.
  • Swimmers are encouraged to attend at least two WSC hosted swim meets per season and aim to achieve an IMR Score.
  •  Swimmers are expected to give the coach their undivided attention while the coach is talking.
  • Swimmers will begin showing personal initiative by being prepared to start practice on time with the appropriate equipment (suits, goggles, etc.) and will pick up and put away any equipment used in practice.
