Parkland Swimming Club (“PSC”) is a growing, year-round competitive swimming and diving club with over 200 members that began operations within the last decade.  Our mission is to empower youth leaders through swimming, providing a range of experiences from novice to upper-tier competitions such as the US Open and Olympic Trials.

Job Summary:

PSC seeks an experienced and highly motivated Program Director & Head Coach for all PSC competitive swimming programs. This is a full-time position, salaried position.

The successful candidate will lead the teams to achieve competitive excellence at all levels, develop student-athletes holistically, and uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, integrity, and academic performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership:
    • Oversee all aspects of the club’s swimming programs, including training, competition, and administration, from our Learn to Swim (lessons) group to our Senior-level group.
    • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the program that aligns with the club's goals and values.
    • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coaching and Training:
    • Design and execute effective training plans that maximize the performance and development of our athletes.
    • Provide high-level technical instruction in all aspects of swimming, including stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategy.
    • Monitor and evaluate student-athletes' progress and performance, making necessary adjustments to training programs.
    • Establish a curriculum that allows for seamless and comprehensive transitions through all program levels.
  • Athlete Development:
    • Promote the athletic success and personal development of all athletes.
    • Support student-athletes in balancing the demands of academics, extracurricular activities and athletics.
    • Encourage and model sportsmanship, leadership, and community engagement.
  • Program Administration:
    • Work with the Team Administrator on the program budget, ensuring cost-efficient and effective use of resources.
    • Oversee scheduling of practices, competitions, and travel.
    • Ensure that programming aligns with all national, state, local, and USA Swimming quality standards. 
    • Follow all required Safe Sport guidelines and training and ensure that all staff maintain current certifications.
    • Plan and organize team meetings to ensure consistent communications, directions, and accountability. 
    • Conduct seasonal reviews of staff with verbal performance reviews communicated to the PSC Board of Directors.
    • Exercise discretion to hire and terminate staff.
    • Partner with the Social media designer to ensure effective promotion and visibility of the club.
    • Organize and participate in fundraising activities and events.
    • Represent the club in a positive and professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of successful coaching experience at the USA Swimming level, with a proven track record of multiple competitive successes and a minimum 5 years of director-level leadership in a USA Swimming program, or a combination of the above.
  • Level 2 ASCA Certification or credentials to merit level 2 certification.
  • Must be a current USA Certified Swimming Coach.
  • Must have current CPR, Coaches Safety Training and First Aid certifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of USA Swimming rules and regulations.
  • Must have experience writing workouts for athletes at all levels and understand variables affecting championship meet preparation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with athletes at all levels, treating each with uniform-leveled respect.
  • Willingness to be fiscally responsible and identify cost-effective measures to proactively avoid unnecessary or duplicative expenditures.
  • Ability and willingness to hold people accountable.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 20 years of successful coaching experience at the USA Swimming level, with a proven track record of multiple competitive successes.
  • High School Coaching experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage program operations and budgets.
  • Strong network within the swimming community.
  • Ability to author written competitive workouts without substantial (or any) reliance on third-party sources; and the ability to communicate the rationale/purpose of the workout with specifics.

  • Directly work with coaches on a regular basis to help support their respective group and provide guidance for on-deck coaching techniques
  • Ensure efficient allocation and stringent management of the budget and expenses of the competitive swimming program
  • Review program expenses on a quarterly basis as it relates to staffing needs and services provided to the membership and make recommendations to the Executive Director for setting the monthly dues for the various programing options
  • Prepare monthly status reports for distribution to the Board at their regular meetings and attend Board meetings when requested by the Executive Director or Chair of the Board.
  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with USA-S, and Middle Atlantic LSC, other local USA Swimming (USA-S) Clubs, and local summer league teams.
  • Ensure event administrative and coordination needs and requirements are met both internally and externally
  • Oversight of meet management from the swimmer perspective and working closely with meet committee to organize and deliver successful meets
  • Collaborate with meet committee to establish hosted meet schedule and submission of required documents to Middle Atlantic LSC.
  • Manage and schedule coaching assignments for meet attendance and coordination with administrative staff to reserve lodging for staff and key personnel at away meets.
  • Attend and present at the annual open membership meeting on the results and success of the past year and plans for the upcoming season.
  • Oversight of regular communications to members/families
  • Maintain compliance with USA Swimming coaching standards
  • Follow all USA-S policies including SafeSport as well as ensuring all EMAC coaches and club are compliant

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of head coaching experience at medium to large USA Swimming club
  • Proven leader and developer of coaching staff
  • Knowledge of designing and implementing seasonal training plans
  • Demonstrated ability in administrative skills and understanding of budgets
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with athletes of all ages as well as staff and families
  • Current USA Swimming Coach Member certifications and in good standing
  • ASCA level 3 or higher certification, preferred

Age Group Lead Coaches

Radnor Aquatic Club is searching for lead coaches for our age group swimmers (ages 7-12) on
our Varsity team. The training goals of our age group program are stroke efficiency, technical
instruction, racing skills, and team building. RAC competes as a member of the Suburban
Aquatic League and USA Swimming. You can read more about our Varsity Program here . This
role is designed for the school year (September-June), but could continue in the summer
months if interested.

Job Requirements:

  • 6-8 hours per week on deck coaching Red, White, and Bronze groups
  • 6-8 hours per month on team administration, including but not limited to:
    • Meeting with other coaches to develop and align season plan
    • Communication with families
    • Assist with team initiatives and social media
  • Attend USA and SAL Dual meets as needed throughout the season

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Write, oversee and coach daily workouts

  • Participate fully in group practices and activities
  • Working flexible hours including nights and weekends, and attending swim meets. Approximately 1 to 2 hours 4-5 days per week.
  • Being a positive role model, maintaining high ethical and moral standards, and adhering to all rules and policies of Hershey  Aquatic Club and USA Swimming.

Qualifications include:

  • Prior coaching experience of at least 5 years preferably with swimmers new to the sport, and advanced 9-10 year old swimmers.
  • Certified or willing to obtain USA Swimming certifications: CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection, Concussion Protocol Training, Background check, Coaches Advantage Training, Foundations of Coaching, MAAPP 2.0 and/or the ability to obtain the certifications.

Course).

This seasonal position is responsible for, under the guidance of the Director of Athletics, the leadership of the Varsity and Middle School Swimming teams.

Responsibilities:

Effectively communicate with players, parents, staff, and administration
Implement swimming training program to facilitate student-athletes reaching their full potential
Teach the sport of swimming, emphasizing both individual and team development 
Establish a strong and positive team culture that values leadership, responsibility, and respect, and aligns with JBHA’s core values
Build meaningful relationships with players and families as it pertains to swimming
Drive student-athletes to practices and competitions in team van if needed. The team practices at Bryn Mawr College, and may practice at other nearby pools.
Support the athletic program and student-athletes
Attend end-of-season sports awards assembly
Barrack swimming does not train or compete on Fridays, Saturdays, or Winter Break.

  6. Exposure to a pool environment and all chemicals related.

Keystone Aquatics is looking for someone passionate about swimming and wanting to grow the competitive age group program. 

 

Since the opening of Keystone Aquatic Center in June of 2018, located in Central Pennsylvania, KAC has been working with swimmers from over 12 school districts Keystone Aquatic Center has become a mainstay for running high level swim meets in the Middle Atlantic LSC, including Long and Short Course Senior Championships. KAC has expanded its programs to include Master’s swimming and swim lesson programs.

 

Requirements:

• ASCA Level III or above.

• Must have all current or be willing to achieve all USA Swimming coaching credentials.

• Must be able to pass a background check.

• Minimum 3-5 yrs. coaching experience preferred.

  • Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for all participants.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain positive relationships with all participants

  • Working with administration to develop coaching scheduling
  • Working with coaches creating practices to ensure flow between practice groups.
  • Finding mid seasons and end of season championship meets to attend as well as planning all travel/meals for team.
  • Growing the team.
  • Creating a dry-land program and/or working with dry-land staff.
  • Meet entries for swimmers.

• Aid in the management of team meet travel.
• Vacation – two weeks in August and one in Spring are built in. Also, one during either Thanksgiving or Holiday Break, or upon request and approval.

Jersey Storm Swimming
Assistant Coach

Jersey Storm Swimming is seeking a motivated, innovative, and inspirational assistant coach to work with our head coach to continue to grow our team and inspire and improve the performance of our swimmers.

 

Jersey Storm is a non-profit, year-round, USA Swimming competitive swim team of 40+ swimmers that is managed by a Parent Board of Directors. Our competitive program consists of three levels: Senior, Junior, and Developmental. We are located in Bordentown, NJ (Middle Atlantic LSC) and our practice facility is located at Team85. The team is currently growing and is located in an area with an increasing population.
 

The Assistant Coach position is a part-time position that requires 3-6 days/week commitment (~2-3hrs/day coaching) plus a weekend meet approximately once per month. Some additional off-deck time required to fulfill coaching duties and responsibilities (e.g., practice planning, meet entries, etc). The position offers an hourly salary, sick pay, and reimbursement for board approved travel and certification/educational fees required for the position.
