Parkland Swimming Club (“PSC”) is a growing, year-round competitive swimming and diving club with over 200 members that began operations within the last decade.  Our mission is to empower youth leaders through swimming, providing a range of experiences from novice to upper-tier competitions such as the US Open and Olympic Trials.

Job Summary:

PSC seeks an experienced and highly motivated Program Director & Head Coach for all PSC competitive swimming programs. This is a full-time position, salaried position.

The successful candidate will lead the teams to achieve competitive excellence at all levels, develop student-athletes holistically, and uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, integrity, and academic performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Leadership:
  • Oversee all aspects of the club’s swimming programs, including training, competition, and administration, from our Learn to Swim (lessons) group to our Senior-level group.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the program that aligns with the club's goals and values.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Coaching and Training:
  • Design and execute effective training plans that maximize the performance and development of our athletes.
  • Provide high-level technical instruction in all aspects of swimming, including stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategy.
  • Monitor and evaluate student-athletes' progress and performance, making necessary adjustments to training programs.
  • Establish a curriculum that allows for seamless and comprehensive transitions through all program levels.
• Athlete Development:
  • Promote the athletic success and personal development of all athletes.
  • Support student-athletes in balancing the demands of academics, extracurricular activities and athletics.
  • Encourage and model sportsmanship, leadership, and community engagement.
• Program Administration:
  • Work with the Team Administrator on the program budget, ensuring cost-efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Oversee scheduling of practices, competitions, and travel.
  • Ensure that programming aligns with all national, state, local, and USA Swimming quality standards. 
  • Follow all required Safe Sport guidelines and training and ensure that all staff maintain current certifications.
  • Plan and organize team meetings to ensure consistent communications, directions, and accountability. 
  • Conduct seasonal reviews of staff with verbal performance reviews communicated to the PSC Board of Directors.
  • Exercise discretion to hire and terminate staff.
  • Partner with the Social media designer to ensure effective promotion and visibility of the club.
  • Organize and participate in fundraising activities and events.
  • Represent the club in a positive and professional manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of successful coaching experience at the USA Swimming level, with a proven track record of multiple competitive successes and a minimum 5 years of director-level leadership in a USA Swimming program, or a combination of the above.
• Level 2 ASCA Certification or credentials to merit level 2 certification.
• Must be a current USA Certified Swimming Coach.
• Must have current CPR, Coaches Safety Training and First Aid certifications.
• Extensive knowledge of USA Swimming rules and regulations.
• Must have experience writing workouts for athletes at all levels and understand variables affecting championship meet preparation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with athletes at all levels, treating each with uniform-leveled respect.
• Willingness to be fiscally responsible and identify cost-effective measures to proactively avoid unnecessary or duplicative expenditures.
• Ability and willingness to hold people accountable.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 20 years of successful coaching experience at the USA Swimming level, with a proven track record of multiple competitive successes.
• High School Coaching experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage program operations and budgets.
• Strong network within the swimming community.
• Ability to author written competitive workouts without substantial (or any) reliance on third-party sources; and the ability to communicate the rationale/purpose of the workout with specifics.

Under the Board's direction and guidance, the full time position of Executive Director at EMAC is responsible for steering both the competitive and learn-to-swim programs, overseeing facility management personnel, alongside managing the day-to-day business operations. • Produce the seasonal group practice schedules that ensures prudent use of space and resources as well as their ability to work within the framework of the group goals and objectives
• Directly work with coaches on a regular basis to help support their respective group and provide guidance for on-deck coaching techniques
• Ensure efficient allocation and stringent management of the budget and expenses of the competitive swimming program
• Review program expenses on a quarterly basis as it relates to staffing needs and services provided to the membership and make recommendations to the Executive Director for setting the monthly dues for the various programing options
• Prepare monthly status reports for distribution to the Board at their regular meetings and attend Board meetings when requested by the Executive Director or Chair of the Board.
• Forge and maintain strong relationships with USA-S, and Middle Atlantic LSC, other local USA Swimming (USA-S) Clubs, and local summer league teams.
• Ensure event administrative and coordination needs and requirements are met both internally and externally
• Oversight of meet management from the swimmer perspective and working closely with meet committee to organize and deliver successful meets
• Collaborate with meet committee to establish hosted meet schedule and submission of required documents to Middle Atlantic LSC.
• Manage and schedule coaching assignments for meet attendance and coordination with administrative staff to reserve lodging for staff and key personnel at away meets.
• Attend and present at the annual open membership meeting on the results and success of the past year and plans for the upcoming season.
• Oversight of regular communications to members/families
• Maintain compliance with USA Swimming coaching standards
• Follow all USA-S policies including SafeSport as well as ensuring all EMAC coaches and club are compliant

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of head coaching experience at medium to large USA Swimming club
• Proven leader and developer of coaching staff
• Knowledge of designing and implementing seasonal training plans
• Demonstrated ability in administrative skills and understanding of budgets
• Solid interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with athletes of all ages as well as staff and families
• Current USA Swimming Coach Member certifications and in good standing
• ASCA level 3 or higher certification, preferred

Age Group Lead Coaches

Radnor Aquatic Club is searching for lead coaches for our age group swimmers (ages 7-12) on
our Varsity team. The training goals of our age group program are stroke efficiency, technical
instruction, racing skills, and team building. RAC competes as a member of the Suburban
Aquatic League and USA Swimming. You can read more about our Varsity Program here . This
role is designed for the school year (September-June), but could continue in the summer
months if interested.

Job Requirements:

• 6-8 hours per week on deck coaching Red, White, and Bronze groups
• 6-8 hours per month on team administration, including but not limited to:
  • Meeting with other coaches to develop and align season plan
  • Communication with families
  • Assist with team initiatives and social media
• Attend USA and SAL Dual meets as needed throughout the season
• Previous swim coaching experience is required

Hershey Aquatic Club is seeking a part-time assistant coach to oversee our 10&iUnder novice groups. The ideal candidate will have energy and passion for swimming, be knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the sport and willing to help the club in many areas. This coach will support and carry out the mission of Hershey Aquatic Club and the philosophy of the Head Coach.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Write, oversee and coach daily workouts 
• Arrives on time to set up and prepare for daily practices.

• Collaborates with other coaches and groups to build a strong seasonal training plan.
• Attends staff meetings in person or via zoom.

• Work with lead coaches to develop and implement seasonal, weekly, and daily training plans for the group
• Teach and train swimmers in proper stroke techniques and racing strategies as appropriate for the age and developmental level of the group; in-water instruction when needed.
• Develop and maintain healthy relationships with the swimmers, their parents, and other coaching staff
• Participate fully in group practices and activities
• Working flexible hours including nights and weekends, and attending swim meets. Approximately 1 to 2 hours 4-5 days per week.
• Being a positive role model, maintaining high ethical and moral standards, and adhering to all rules and policies of Hershey  Aquatic Club and USA Swimming.

Qualifications include:

• Prior coaching experience of at least 5 years preferably with swimmers new to the sport, and advanced 9-10 year old swimmers.
• Certified or willing to obtain USA Swimming certifications: CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection, Concussion Protocol Training, Background check, Coaches Advantage Training, Foundations of Coaching, MAAPP 2.0 and/or the ability to obtain the certifications.

Salary

• $20.00 - $25.00 hourly depending on experience and proven success of athlete development.

Drive student-athletes to practices and competitions in team van if needed. The team practices at Bryn Mawr College, and may practice at other nearby pools.
Support the athletic program and student-athletes
Attend end-of-season sports awards assembly
Barrack swimming does not train or compete on Fridays, Saturdays, or Winter Break.

Job Summary: The Head Swimming & Diving Coach will be responsible for the development of the middle school and upper school programs.  They will be directly responsible on a daily basis to coach the upper school team.  The head coach  is ultimately responsible for team and individual development of our scholar athletes.

Lastly, and perhaps most important, it is essential that the Head Swimming & Diving Coach believes in the idea that we put team goals before our own, where we are “One Team All In.”

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of upper school, college or relative coaching experience
• Has experience with helping college bound swimming & diving students by networking with college programs
• Fundraising experience a plus
• Available for all practices and competitions from mid-November through the end of February.  Some overnight travel and weekend competitions as well.

Essential Duties:

• Reports to practice on time
• Sets a positive example for our scholar athletes
• Teaches the technical skills required for a top tier program
• Works with the parent/volunteer leads for meet management and fundraising/community building
• Works with assistant coaches and middle school coaches in terms of program development

Our USA competitive team is in search of a Head Coach for the 23/24 season.  Our team swims at the Newtown Athletic Club in beautiful Newtown, PA (Bucks County). You will be part of a small close knit family team, and be the first to lead in our newly renovated pool at our world renowned Health Club.

Coaching:

• Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for all ages and skill levels.
• Plan and lead engaging and effective swim team practices.
• Provide individualized instruction to help swimmers improve technique and performance.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance team cohesion and motivation.
• Prepare swimmers for competitive meets and oversee their participation.
• Collaborate with assistant coaches to ensure consistent coaching methods and training plans.

 Athlete Development:

• Assess and monitor swimmers' progress and development, adjusting training plans as needed.

• Participate in club-wide events and promotional activities that may highlight the swim team.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of coaching experience in competitive swimming.
• Current certification as a USA Swimming coach or ability to achieve certs immediately after hire.
• Extensive knowledge of swimming techniques, training methodologies, and competitive rules.
• Proven track record of developing successful swimmers and achieving team goals.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate swimmers.
• Working Knowledge of Team Unify/Team Manager.
• Excellent organizational and time management.

Assistant Senior Group Coach

Parkland Swimming Club is looking for motivated individuals with a swimming background to fill a position vacancy for Assistant Senior Group Coach. Parkland Swimming Club is a club program with over 200 members that began operations 6 years ago. Our mission is to empower youth leaders through swimming, providing a range of experiences from novice to upper-tier competitions such as the US Open and Olympic Trials.

Job Position:
Assistant Senior Group Coach

Look for candidates who possess:

1. Prior coaching experience with a swimming background.
2. USA Swimming Credentials or be credentialed before employment date.
3. Knowledge of proper swimming technique, training science, and stroke/distance specific racing background.

6. Some experience planning workouts, season plan, meet plan, and meet entries for individual swimmers.

Job Description:

1. Status: Part-Time-Hourly pay. Negotiable based on experience.
2. Workout Times: a. Dryland M-F 3:10-3:45 PM. b. Swimming: i. M-Fri. – 4:00-6:00 PM ii. Sat. 7:00-9:00 AM.
3. Attend senior sessions for meets when needed.
4. Assist the Club Head Coach and Senior Level Coach with all workouts and program development.
5. Assist in administrative needs including meet entries, meet entry changes, and meet scratches.
6. Assist in development and implementation of season plans, group goals, and social functions.
7. Promote the organization and assist in the growth of the Parkland High School Swimming Team.
8. Prevent hazardous situations through proper planning and experiences
9. Assist in observation and implementation of organizational rules and regulations.
10. Monitor USA Swimming Credentials and adhere to all USA Swimming MAAPP 2.0 and SafeSport requirements.
11. Knowledge of USA Swimming mandatory for employment.
12. Perform duties as required, as well as fill in for/serve as the Head Program Coach during absence.
13. Arrives promptly to work 15 minutes prior to practice starting. Depending on the
    candidate, considerations will be taken for personal work schedules.

​Demands of the position:

1. Standing and walking for 95% of 140-180 minutes.
2. Lifting items 5-50 pounds.
3. Stopping, kneeling, stairs, turning, holding items extended during workouts.
4. Be able to demonstrate exercises at dryland.
5. Potential exposure to weather during the summer months.
6. Exposure to a pool environment and all chemicals related.
7. Setting up, tearing down, moving the pool set up, including the use of a crank winch to move the facility bulkhead.
