YORK, Pa. - For most of the calendar year, most of the Middle Atlantic Swimming members are competing against each other at meets throughout the tri-state area.

This past weekend, the strength of the Middle Atlantic Swimming family was on display at the second annual Tri-State Cup at Graham Aquatic Center in York.

The 2023 Tri-State Cup was an awesome experience to be a part of. It was great to see the coaches and swimmers from across the LSC come together as one to represent Middle Atlantic Swimming,” Tri-State Cup Head Coach Andrew Austria said. “It was a great opportunity for Middle Atlantic Swimming as the host to showcase who we are and adding fun and excitement to the meet.

An event that started last year, the Tri-State Cup brings together talent from all over the area with Middle Atlantic Swimming, Allegheny Mountain Swimming, and New Jersey Swimming all coming together for a weekend to compete in a championship meet experience for some of the best 13 & under swimmers in each LSC.

"These types of experiences are exactly what we're looking to give our members. To see the smiles on their faces, to see them build connections with each other, that's what it's all about and we're so grateful to have had the opportunity to host this event," Executive Director Jamie Platt said. "We can't wait to have more of these experiences for our members and to give them friendships and memories that they'll enjoy for the rest of their lives."

In the pool, Middle Atlantic Swimming showed their strength, taking home the cup for the second straight year, along with over 50 gold medal finishes.

“At the center of everything we do as coaches and an LSC is to give these kids memories and experiences that they’ll remember for a lifetime and that’s exactly what they got to experience,” Austria added. “To have them be able to walk out of the tunnel, the interviews, the pictures on the podium, it was a full experience for these kids to share with so many great kids from all across our area. These kids will remember this experience forever.”
